Finding a method to get more restful sleep -- or just some sleep! -- is a huge step towards overall improvement and better acceptance. I hope the air mattress continues to work for you. moderator, Yahoo! Chronic Pain http://home.dejazzd.com/hower
Guest guest
Pat - Have you tried Benedryl - or plain old diphenhydramine (drug store brand). Try 25 mg. If it doesn't work, take 50 mg. It's an allergy med, but does permit sleep. Harmless.
Guest guest
Is he eating anything that turns to sugar in the body...c carbs, starches, and grains....this went away with our son when we dropped all that for now...also we put him to bed much later, WAKE him up early, and no naps....you will feel much more rested going to bed and to sleep at 1pm and waking up at 5 or 6 then waking up in the middle of the night....worked for us...now he usually sleeps till seven and goes to bed about nine or nine thirty. Only occassionally up in the middle of the night and then just for WA WA...and back to sleep. Good luck. Guest guest
We also have had sleep problems off and on for some time. (mostly on) 3mg of melatonin sounds like a lot to me. If you can find a time- released product, I think we use melatonex cut in half, it may help. Even though our daughter chews them, they still seem to work better. Also, try to pattern your sleep as much as possible around his. If you can minimize your awake time when he is sleeping. We have found that we could get some chores done around the house in the middle of the night when our daughter was up. That way we could go to sleep immediately when she did. The extra hour or two really helps us stay sane. We also limit fluid intake before bed, this seems to help her stay dry through the night. Also we use B6 with magnesium before bed. We track our daughters behavior/diet/supplements and we have not found a correlation yet. We just started Diflucan hoping that getting the yeast under control will work. We went 2 months straight sleeping through the night until an ear infection and the antibiotics made the yeast flare up again. Hang in there! > > > > Does anyone have any suggestions for getting my 3 year old to sleep? > > We are already using 3mg melatonin per night. Guest guest
Peanuts are high in phenols which my son cant handle. Try adding in No phenols enzyme (or phenol assist) and try switching to a sunflower or almond butter depending on which is better tolerated. This could be a factor.
