That is such great news...when they are young you cannot let

the " experts " push all that signing, esp when they have motor

planning issues...it is actually easier for our Matt to SPEAK than

sign as it turns out. I am told that you should have very consistent

and spontaneous labeling before trying for two word combos and

more...which lines up with the book's advice. Good for you for

getting in there and getting your child talking! Di

Thanks! But it will be quite a while before we can even think about two word combos. This afternoon he started saying "up". I could dance every time he says a word! I am so happy this board mentioned that book--whoever it was--thank you!!! This combined with SCD is really working great for him vocally.
