Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was the one who posted a week or so ago and came clean about my sons carb addictions, remember the Halloween candy I gave him to calm down when sisiers friends were here Anyway all of your posts were so helpful and have my so psyched to get going on the diet. You all suggested that if possible I get my daughters out of the house. Well, we were planning to start the diet after we got back from Presidents day weekend away with extended family. I have decided to send my girls and husband and stay home with my son to start the diet. Yeah me!! thats a big step for me. Typically I would go and have lots of bad food to give my son to eat while the others are playing so he doesn't freak out. Not this time. you are right I am sick of the autism meaning I am sick of doing every treatment whether it by supplements, RDI , chelation etc. with a heavy heart because my sons diet is so terrible. I just got off the phone with my DAN Doctor and told him basically that I was stopping the transdermal DMPS, EDTA etc and focusing on the diet. I'm ready, I'm willing, I've cleared our schedule, got back up Now where do I start? What do I do? Remember my son is the one who has NEVER eaten a veggie, a fruit other that apple sauce or raisans, no meat except chicken nuggets. Do I start with the intro? Oh by the way we did the SAGE allergy test he tested for almond, apple, bakers yeast, banana, beef, beet, brewers yeast, broccoli, cocoa, cocunut, egg, grapefruit, green pea, lemon, milk, peanut, pinto bean, rye, safflower, shrimp, soybean, wheat, casein, duck, gelatin, grouper,or ange roughy, snapper, spinach, zucchini AS you probably have guessed my son has not eaten most of the foods listed above. My DAN seems to feel that since his immune system is not working he will probably show a reaction to most foods. So what do I do, where I start. Should I just follow the SCD and then pull out the IGG foods? It seems almond is used alot. When my son was on GFCFSF aka all carbs all the time diet we used almond milk for pancakes. I know my son will hunger strike, I feel so terrible because I created this mess of a diet now I have to fix it. Any advice is appreciated. Does the intro diet help with resetting the taste buds etc. Thank you so much to this group. You have inspired me and given me hope that I can help my son. I only hope that we can be successful and that I can help others remember the movie PAY IT FORWARD with Helen Hunt.
