Guest guest
Diane, That was Miralax.. My GI told me it was for " regulation " and works by holding the water in the bowel. So, it seems to help whether constipated or " back door trots " as they used to say in the South. What I loved about it was it is tastless and does not get thick and gooey like Metamucel and some of those fiber drinks. Try it, you will like it. Guest guest
Thanks for the tip. I've been on it for 5 days and am starting to see some, but not complete relief. According to the mfg.'s instructions, week three-four are when total relief may be expected. Meanwhile, I still have some dynamite for backup. That tip was worth its weight in......., well you know.... GOLD!!! Cheerios, Temp In SEZ ////////// Re: CONSTIPATION Diane, That was Miralax.. Guest guest
My NT son used mirilax for about 6 months when he was 2 until he was potty trained. It worked like a dream after getting the dosage right after a week. Life was much better after starting that. The poop drama was horrendous before mirilax! Now at age 3, he is fine. Guest guest
We used Miralax and Enulose with NO success. Only when I put my daughter on a good probiotic, enzymes, and flax seed did her chronic constipation seem to ease up. Hope this helps. Guest guest
We had tried Mirilax and everything else under the son for our NT daughter from age 18 mo to age 7. Nothing fixed the problem. From age 5 she was on probiotics and she improved. At age 7 I took her to our son's DAN who suggested running some stool tests. We did that. She suggested we start on 1 cap OXYPOWDER per day, increase as needed. She suggested we increase Vitamin C up to 1000 mg per day if necessary (we are now back down to 500 mg.) And becuase of bad bacteria in the we took a 2 week course of antibiotics specific to the colon, and later 2 weeks of UVIURSI. She is much, much, much better. She still has some motility issues, perhaps sensory perhaps neurological damage from years of constipation. We will test carnitine next time. Good luck. ________ > Looking for last minute shopping deals? > Find them fast with Yahoo!
