I found these descriptions of the following diagnosis codes at

780.99 Other general symptoms; Amnesia, Chills, Generalized pain,

Hypothermia, not associated with low environmental temperature

279.3 Unspecified immunity deficiency

I can see why your doctor didn't think he could use 780.99 - other general

symptoms.

But 279.3 very clearly states immune disfunction so I'm not sure why this

one gave him pause...

I'm confused. My doctor wouldn't bill and use these codes because he

sais they are incorrect and are not for immune dysfunction and neuro

cognitive dysfunction????

These are international codes issued by the WHO - Dr G's codes are listed

in the ICD9 edition - though a revised ICD10 has been published. Insurance

companies use these codes universally.
