It's been 6 days since I finished my

3-day juice and water fast. Since then, I have eaten kefir-soaked

oatmeal with apple sauce for breakfast, vegetarian chilli for supper,

and raw fruits and vegetables (including Tabouli) for lunch with a

little cheese. My muscles are still feeling weak - specifically, when

I lift up my arms, I feel as though I have anemia.

Before the fast, I was eating lots

of home-grown veggies and feeling really great. I wondered whether to

even do the fast, since I was feeling so fantastic, but since hubby was

away, it seemed like a good opportunity to take it easy and guzzle

fluids for three days....

I've been taking some molasses for

iron, and I should probably have some of my home-grown Swiss Chard with

supper tonight.

Any other suggestions?

Yup, do another 3 day juice cleanse. Only this time do the one by Dr.

and do it to a "T". Don't deviate one iota. When you finish

the fast break it on the morning of the 4 th day or around noon if you

prefer, with some fruit juice and maybe some soft fruits. Then for

supper have only a raw salad. On the 5th day you can eat all the raw

food you desire but nothing processed. No dairy either. After the 5th

day just continue on with a mucusless diet and I guarantee that you

will get feeling even more fantastic then you thought possible.

Part of the trouble here is you broke your fast eating the wrong foods.

How's that for a suggestion? 8-)

What turns it on turns it off, as Doc used to say.

Hey just a minute Mr. Don, sir! I DID try and do it pretty much "as written". As you know, the 16 oz of prune juice first thing created a problem for me(!) and I think I can be given a little leway, especially since I tried the following morning with 8 oz of prune juice (because I'm a glutton for punishment). The third morning I skipped the PJ - I admit. OK, the first night I stopped drinking at 9 pm, after I threw up. Would you suggest carrying on regardless? I must admit that I was obviously down at least a quart of fluid after that, but with a spitting headache, all I wanted to do was go to bed - and die! I did break my fast at noon on the fourth day with an apple and some AJ. Hey! this was supposed to be a 3-day fast, and wasn't I supposed to feel marvellous? How come I don't? Why do I have to carry on with all this raw food stuff? Sometimes a girls gotta EAT! I want my money back! {LOL} I think you're a big meanie for suggest that I do this all over again :-( Going back under my rock now..... and the K9's Yup, do another 3 day juice cleanse. Carrots and beets are good.... and the rest... when you find black strap molasses... read the labels.. you'll be amazed at the difference in them..

Hi Suzi,

I adore brocolli, and normally eat it every day. Since the garden came into fruition I have stopped buying it so that I can concentrate on all the home-grown goodies - including the Swiss chard, carrots, beans, and beets. Maybe my body misses its brocolli. I'll also check out the proper blackstrap molasses and some more ACV - sounds like I need another visit to the health food store.....

Cheers,

ROFLMBO,

You see maybe you were feeling great before the fast but I strongly

suspect that your body is a tad bit toxic. When you were doing the fast

your got a spitting? headache! Anyway, that is usually a symptom of

something wrong else where. Usually headaches are tied to ones

eliminative system (bowels). So for my next suggestion I would suggest

that you do a bowel cleansing. It is quite likely that your bowels are

encrusted and you went through autotoxification while doing the cleanse.

You don't have to carry on with the raw stuff, it is purely your choice.

Just remember that you is what you eats. You want to be feeling on top

of the world like Cagney " Look at me ma! I'm on top of the world! "

then you have to eat appropriately and that means not eating mucus

forming foods. At least do your best to severly limit them. Your body

will thank you in so many ways.

How much did you pay now? LOL

Seriously though, you have brought to light something important here. No

cleanse will be effective if the bowels are cleansed first. All that

mucus and toxins have to leave your body somehow and the bowels are the

easiest way for them to be eliminated. If the bowels aren't working

properly then you are in for some hardships.

Try planting calendula and marigolds all around your garden and amongst

it. Works great.

Hi Don,

Yes, I have to admit to - chronic constipation! I had been away from home

for 10 days, and afraid to drink the water (which was full of chlorine

because my hubby had cleaned out the water tanks on the boat and not flushed

them very well). When I returned home, I worked on my system with lots of

figs and prunes and raw veggies, and was thrilled to have a BM twice a day -

something I've never had before in 50+ years! I think the beets helped

too. I took the prune juice, thinking that I needed it, and at least it

gave me a good clean out!

Yup, I had a splitting headache the first evening of the cleanse, and the

following night, at the same time, a feeling of nasea and another headache.

Guess I'll concentrate a bit harder on the bowels. I'll check out the bowel

cleanse in the files.

Many thanks for all your help, I do appreciate it, even if what you are

telling me to do is difficult.....

I am certainly no Dr., but I guess in a way that gives me a certain amount

of credibility, if it were me, I'd start out by getting plenty of rest to

make certain that you're not fatigued. Then get some mild exercise to see if

you can get yourself going again. You might need some blood work done, to

see if maybe you're low in something, like iron.

Just my guess.

bread thinking that this was good for me along with oatmeat. Now I find

that I shouldn't be eating grains!

I'm only eating fruits, veggies, some nuts. Any ideas why I'm feeling this

way? I did have several eggs and beans, pinto beans. Could it be the lack

of enough protein? I don't like this feeling!

I've been a practicing vegan for years, and it's not as easy as it sounds.  It's

not just a case of eating nothing but fruits and vegetables --- actually takes a

good amount of care to make sure you're getting all the nutrients your body

requires.  There are plenty of places to get them besides meat or dairy, but you

have to pay attention.  There are many internet sites where a person can get

guidance and menus, and those might be worth checking out.  Jan

Nature somtimes works slowly.

Stay close to an alkaline diet. (not completely)

Nature knows exactly what to do, and never stops working.

Bread, is considered by many, a junk food.

It's OK to eat, but not the staff of life.
