Guest guest
Hey We did our initial work-up when my son was a month shy of 3 yrs. Our pediatrician did not want to do all of the tests in one sitting because he felt it was too much blood. Dr Gs office told me not to worry about it, that they do it all at once. But we did it in 2 separate sittings anyway. > > Can anyone tell me how many blood draws it takes for a little guy (3) > for all of the initial labwork that is recommended for Dr. Goldberg? > Also, is the panel on his website still accurate or is there anything > additional he now likes to start with? > > Thanks. > > >
Guest guest
My son was 4 and we did it all at once. It's important to consider what will be more traumatic emotionally -- one sitting, or more than one. It took about 15 minutes to get all the blood needed -- lots of vials. But it honestly wasn't THAT much blood, at least in terms of blood loss. did great -- I held him in my lap with arms and legs around him, but he got through it, and I kept him focused by reminding him that he would get a treat afterwards. Then went out for a burgers (McD's) and had plenty of energy to play in the play area. Just our experience. Hope that helps, Donna > > > > Can anyone tell me how many blood draws it takes for a little guy > (3) > > for all of the initial labwork that is recommended for Dr. > Goldberg? > > Also, is the panel on his website still accurate or is there > anything > > additional he now likes to start with? > > > > Thanks. > > > > > > >
