Guest guest
should have received immediate credit upon Dr. Goldberg's congressional testimony. This was a big deal in 2000 and it is really tragic that at that point in time society still didn't perceive our children as " sick " . So, ultimately everyone suffers. Ask yourself why is the information on not available in a college classroom to all new teachers/therapists... why hasn't even the idea of autism and a medical condition been mentioned and/or studied within the Psychiatric Departments of Institutions? We certainly do not want to assume the worse, BuT it only boils down to a few reasons: money being made on " autism world " and/ or egos and old ideas/ psychiatrics/psychologists and their role in this Autism World & refusing to recognize the medical components and/or ________________. Anyone else's opinion can go there. Please feel free to add to this post, out of curiosity, I will look forward to hearing ideas. These are questions us parents should be asking to each and every autism society out there in the world!!!! Michele Cerruto. Mauldin, SC ( a suburb of Greenville, So. Carolina). PS ~ I am in the process of writing my story and I am calling it.... AUTISM: What really is it? The title may need to change because I have few college credits in science; my BA is in Communications and minor in Accounting. So therefore I may re-title it to.... something different.
