Guest guest
Hi everyone! Just a little update on Gillian. She is worse than ever. Not sleeping, lethargic and hasn't eaten anything in 5 days.My husband and I are going to start chelation on her ASAP probably without the help of a doctor. We can't find any willing to help they all think it is a waist of time. Her aluminum is off the charts.I have a few questions that I know have been asked but I can't find the answers now.Where do you all buy ALA and DMSA?What protocol do you follow?(how many days off and on).Do you start ALA before, after,or at the same time? What supplements do you give? Where do I get them? I just don't want to harm my daughter any more than she already is.Thanks for all of your advice...........ne
Guest guest
Hi ne, I am not sure if I have seen you on the list, but I see the gravity of your dilemma and I think your questions are best answered over there. I happen to be doing a chelating week-end right now with my daughter. I can feel my mind starting to clear up all ready. Best of luck in your endeavours. Re: [ ] chelation question Hi everyone! You can buy DMSA here /files/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA >What > protocol do you follow?(how many days off and on). I use my own protocol, but you can read about the standard ones here http://www.autismchannel.net/dana/chelate.htm I give ALA only, 3 days on and 4 days off. >Do you start ALA > before, after,or at the same time? I give ALA alone. >> What supplements do you give? Where do I > get them? I had to start with NO supplements except enzymes, because my children did not tolerate any of them. Now after many rounds of chelation, they are starting to tolerate supplements. You can learn the recommended ones in my chelation link above. Guest guest
Hello ne, > Hi everyone! Just a little update on Gillian. I missed whatever you said about Gillian before this.... just saw THIS message..... > She is worse than ever. Not > sleeping, lethargic and hasn't eaten anything in 5 days.My husband and I are > going to start chelation on her ASAP probably without the help of a doctor. We > can't find any willing to help they all think it is a waist of time. Her > aluminum is off the charts. I'm sorry I don't remember what is effective for aluminum. ALA and DMSA are not particularly, unless mercury is messing up the aluminum level or reading. Info on how to decrease aluminum MAY be in the FAQ: /files/Mercury-Autism%20FA Q or you could ask on the autism treatment list. DMSA chelates mercury (except from brain/CNS) and lead. ALA chelates mercury (including from brain/CNS) and arsenic. > I have a few questions that I know have been asked > but I can't find the answers now.Where do you all buy ALA and DMSA? /files/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA Although the file is " called " " HOW_TO_buy_DMSA " it ALSO covers ALA. It ONCE had just DMSA info and then the file name made sense. Now it has other info also on several things, but I have not changed the name of the file. > What > protocol do you follow?(how many days off and on). I personally use ALA only, every 3 hours while awake, every 3.5 hours at night. I would recommend reading the info on Dana's site (which she posted) -- she explains some about different protocols. I would also recommend reading about Andy Cutler's guidelines. /files/Andy_dose_sched /files/ANDY_INDEX /files/Andy_protocol Please note that the above info is MOSTLY about MERCURY however NOT ALUMINUM. So this may be totally inappropriate answer. > Do you start ALA > before, after,or at the same time? What supplements do you give? Where do I > get them? the answers to these are complex and I do not feel up to answering. So I will refer you to ANDY_INDEX, and the FAQ: /files/ANDY_INDEX /files/Mercury-Autism%20FA Q > I just don't want to harm my daughter any more than she already > is. absolutely. Guest guest
Excuse me, but do you mean that literally that daughter hasnt eaten ANYTHING in 5 days?? If that is really true, she should be taken to the hospital. Rivky Re: [ ] chelation question > Hi everyone! Guest guest
ne, First off, there is another group, Autims-Mercury, that you should be looking at for advice on chelating. I agree, get her to a hospital fast. She needs more help before any chelating. Visit the other group if your reading this, although I hope your at the hospital, thus you would not be reading this. Guest guest
I would not suggest doing chelation on a child who does not seem well. I think you need to figure out what's up with her eating and handle it before you consider chelation, and maybe even build her up a bit. Will she drink smoothies or high protein drinks? That might help some. Chelation is pretty hard on the body. My .02. Guest guest
Oh my! I really was afraid i would be attacked for my email saying she should be at the hospital- i thought everyone would jump on me saying that i am being too literal. Now i see my view are supported. I hope it wasnt meant literally but ofcourse if it is, anybody not eating in 5 days should be in the hospital. Rivky Re: [ ] chelation question > > > > > > > Hi everyone! Guest guest
I thought you shouldn't mix it more than a few hours beforehand, if that. We mix ours in applesauce immediately before giving it...
Guest guest
I use DMSA in capsules which I mix into a teaspoon of juice just before I give it to my son. I will do the same when I add ALA (soon?). It has been frequently reported that DMSA is not stable in liquid and will lose its potency very quickly (i.e. days?). Capsules are easy to work with, and you know what you are getting/giving. By the way, I put the juice mixture in a syringe and squirt it into my son's mouth so I know he gets all of it. This works at night, too, by attaching a little tube to the tip of the syringe. Max --- zahoo19 <debrasidell@...> wrote: > We are about to start DMSA/ALA. This means you should most likely discard the stuff, buy some capsules, and then go on with your plans. You can mix both in same juice and give together. Or any other food. There is a little more info on this mixing and measuring type stuff here: /files/HOW_TO_buy_DMSA Moria
Guest guest
Are we grouping all chelation methods under one umbrella? Just curious, because methods like chlorella, or glutathione, or adding selenium...displacing bad metals with good ones for instance, may be gentle and work well. IV chelation might be too strong for some folks. > > > Hi All, > > > > My son's metals are throught he roof (I'm sending > > the > > testing results to Dr Bruce tomorrow). Guest guest
As the body heals, it naturally chelates itself. When you chemically chelate, you could be moving metals from one locate to another where it can do more harm. --- Meade <jenniferdmeade@...> wrote: > Hi All, > > My son's metals are throught he roof (I'm sending > the > testing results to Dr Bruce tomorrow). Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this group and I have a question. Why doesn't Dr. Goldberg like to do chelation? What is his reasoning? Thanks!!

I am not the authority on this topic, but I know it has been answered numerous times on this forum by some pretty smart parents. Just try the search feature and continue searching old posts. Hopefully this will answer your question. Lots of good info on all sorts of things in the archives too! > > Hi, > > I'm new to this group and I have a question. Guest guest
In a cliff-note version, he is concerned about it depleting the body of essential minerals and redistributing toxic metals in a dangerous way. Gaylen
