LOL! I guess that I have unwittingly taken one for the team. I have not

had more than a couple pounds variance of weight in years. I am now just past 5

1/2 years out and am up 25 pounds from my standard weight.

Yeah, Marta.... I went to the earlymenopause.com and the other site (don't

recall the name) and have found that I fit the bill on several of the points.

Symptoms:

** hot flashes (well, more like periods of being flushed)

** weight gain (quite pi$$ed about that one)

** sleeping poorly (I have had to start melatonin again)

** moody (maybe due to lack of sleep, but easily angered or emotional)

Plan of action:

** have immediately increased my water consumption

** taking a melatonin at night when getting ready for bed, instead of

waiting til I have laid there for 40 minutes ruminating

** not journaling necessarily, but taking better note of what I eat and

going for less carbs

** plan to make red velvet cake for birthday, then lay off sweets (maybe

have a donut a week that my evil doctor brings and forces me to eat, lol)

** exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes at a time, and slowly

increase this in a few weeks

in OR

Subject: Compliance...and Dee

Because Dee has shared her story with us, I, too, am borderline

fanatic about my calcium. That is, I aim for 2000 mg beyond what is

in my food and regular vitamins. Most days I hit it. If I'm out

longer than expected, I may occasionally have a 1500 mg day.

And I take my multi's and my ADEK's and an occasional biotin and folic

acid...all that stuff. I even drink a little protein supplement now

and then.

So, Dee!!! Would you please go get fat for a while? I'm asking

because I seem to learn from YOUR mistakes and for the past few days,

I've eaten tons of food...much of it garbage. (Please remember that

I'm a revision and we start out with a generally bad attitude of the

been-there-done-that-variety...so, kindly allow for that factor.) If

you could just start ballooning up and take a few photos, maybe I'd

catch on and save myself even MORE heartache.

You wouldn't mind, would you? It would be for the good of the patients!

, I made that one up. Is it real? lol Freakin' funny!

Oh, and the weight, maybe that is my problem, also. I tried to

exercise this am and it turns out I am allergic to it so I have to

start slowly and work my way up. My feet broke out in hives after less

than five minutes on the elliptical trainer.
