Guest guest
Hi - My general understanding about the opinion re this is that in general, it begins with immune dysfunction and the lyme is a side effect and potential trigger - not cause. And it may be unlikely that lyme by itself is the primary problem, although surely it could be the central infection for some kids. Certainly not all. Also, you must take into consideration (I would guess that that group probably has and has a reason, but I haven't read it) - there are lots of false positives w/lyme, and in an immune dysregulatory state, false positives (and sometimes false negatives like in HHV6) happen, and I'm betting a lot more often in immune dysfunction/dysregulation. I'm pretty sure I'm close w/that answer but not accurate. I think I asked the question when my son had a tick and that's how I understood the answer.
