Guest guest
Hi Eileen, Thanks for the reply; someone told me something similar, that they do the neurospect in VA, although I assumed its already being done there. I am sorry you had a rough appt with your son. I hope you were able to get some things accomplished. How old is he? These poor kids go through so much, but we go through it right along with them, you just got to keep going on. What was the appt like? Did they do an exam, a history, that type of thing? I find with my son (hes 8) that preparing him ahead of time helps a lot, using visual techniques like pictures/words. It doesnt help in every situation, but I try anyway. I try to, when I have the time, do social stories with him, so even though it may be unpleasant, there shouldnt be any surprises. I cant do it with everything such as bloodwork, because if he realizes he may get blood taken, I wouldnt even get him in the car. Now that hes had it done a few times, when we get near the hospital, he starts asking if it will be done. When he has to go in the office, I have to drag him, & then hold him down which is no easy task since he is 4 1/2ft & 87lbs. Its really difficult, especially when you are alone. I hope you had someone with you. Good luck with the results, and thanks again. Eileen
Guest guest
Hi Eileen Well my son is much older...we got a very late start on all this....He is 22...very long story....but has been a mess over the last year and tanked big time at the beginning of July....I had my husband with me....My guy is 5'8 " and 180lbs...that is after he lost 50lbs this past year....we were able to talk as much as possible..no physical but that could have been due to his EXTREME DISTRES..My son had already been on Abilify and just recently started depakote to control this horrible aggression....so he was put on tenex and started on Nizoral for yeast...all his tests came back negative except for yeast and herpes simplex 1...high on that....5.00... We are already seeing some better behavior with tenex and Nizoral but we just started and I have learned that my son doesnt always continue upward....he usually takes many steps backward... We felt very good coming out of the consult...so we are happy to have a direction to go in....Eileen --------------------------------- All-new - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster. Guest guest
Hi Eileen: Sorry I posted yesterday but it never showed up....My son is much older..got a late start with all this....he is 22..yes my husband was with me...No physical but that could be due to his EXTREME DISTRESS that day.. We came away with a good feeling...My sons labs were postive for Herpes 1..pretty high....5.0 and yeast..pretty high also...so he is being treated for yeast first with Nizoral and tenex was given at the same time due to his condition.. Follow up in Dec to see where he is at and more than likely treat the herpes.... So far he is doing slightly better...urinating better and less agitated...Eileen > > Hi Eileen, > > Thanks for the reply; someone told me something similar, that they > do the neurospect in VA, although I assumed its already being done > there. > > I am sorry you had a rough appt with your son.
