Hi ,

A diaphoretic tea is any tea that will make your body perspire more.

Excellent diaphoretics for use in a hot tub of water are fresh ginger

root tea, cayenne tea, yarrow tea, thyme tea, spearmint tea and

chamomile tea. This list is in no way conclusive either as there are

many many other herbs out there that will bring on perspiration. I do

believe that powdered ginger will work as well but fresh would be much

better.

Hi ,

Ginger is what I consider a soft root. You can either steep it or boil

it. If you steep it pour boiling water over the sliced up root pieces

and cover and allow to steep for 15 - 20 minutes with no heat. If you

boil it place the root pieces in boiling water and allow to simmer for

20 minutes or so. Then pour yourself a nice hot cup and take into the

very hot bath with you. Don't forget the epsom salts if you have them.

If not, just hot water will be better than anything. Also sea salts work

well too. Do make sure you stay in as long as you can so you perspire

freely. Then take a cold shower after to close up the pores and rinse

your body off.

Peace be with you .

By the way, if you start feeling at all overwhelmed or light headed or

really queasy then very carefully have your DH help you out of the tub

and into a cold shower. DO NOT OVERDO THE HEAT!!! If you are not used to

it it can be quite dangerous. Use common sense.

Well that's interesting! I wonder if we should stay away from these when we

have hot flashes? I noticed that I didn't have hot flashes during my fast -

of course there were a lot of other things going on too, which maybe took my

mind off them {LOL}. However, I wasn't taking my daily cayenne and garlic

capsules......

Yesterday I drank 2 cups of ginger tea (with honey) and had one hot flash

after another. Hmmm makes yer fink!

and the K9's
