Guest guest
Hey All, Just wanted to say AGAIN how great you all are to help each and every person who pops up on this list. The boyfriend and I were just talking yesterday about how much you all have inspired me. He's thrilled to see me so excited, motivated and FOCUSED! The constant flow of information, love and spirit here just keeps me driven to constantly learn and work on my herbs and nutrition. So, thanks. For everything, past, present AND future. Now here's for my question: I'm currently on Effexor for anxiety. I was prescribed this a while ago when I was having some difficult times through graduate school/full time work. Now that work is great and I'm in a good living situation, my anxiety has become rather mild, if present at all. (I'm sure the meds help..) I'd eventually like to get OFF the meds, as they make me nauseus and give great headaches when I miss a dose even if by a few hours. (Like today...i'm ready to go curl up near the toilet in the bathroom, ugh) Anyone have any thoughts for this? Dietary, herbal or otherwise? Now, during the time i " wean " off of the pill or after? I know that herbs have helped me in the process of getting off other medications in the past. (i.e. evening primrose oil while getting off birth control meds) I really appreciate it love and light, Anne
Guest guest
, I was on Effexor a couple of years ago until my Dr. informed me that "the manufacturer added a little extra ingredient to keep depressed people from going off their meds" I would get very sick if I missed more than one day. I had like electric shock 'thingys' (for the lack of a better word) through my body that were almost unbearable. There is no way to get off it this horrible poison except to do it very slowly. I had to taper off over about a 2 month period. The electric shock lasted over a year but gradually dissipated. There are alot of brilliant people here on this list who can advise you or some good things to help ease the pain -so to speak- I cannot guide you there I am learning myself. I wish I had of had access to these guys when I was enduring the withdrawl. They are great. Let me know if I can help out anyway. There is a lot of info here for you. I hope it helps.
