Funny you brought up rash. My son now back on Famvir has a rash. Very mild

but a rash non the less. I am also concerned about yeast at this point. I

have started him on a probiotic and we are really seeing some die off. I

will have to report this to Dr. G.

On another note has anyone herd about Bio-Footbaths? We just started them

and they really seem to help with allergies.

It was interesting. After our four year old was on famvir for about

two months, we missed a day when he went to visit grandma. He

spiked a high fever and developed a rash that we were told was

Roseola(infant herpes 6). Apparently, he had it. But, had been

unable to fight this war with the virus. Several other times when

something has gone wrong and we missed a dose, he again spiked a

fever around 102 and began to develop a rash. It does seem that he

had some odd ticks at this time. However, his stimming, hand

flapping and rocking have increased a thousand fold lately. Yet,

starting him on an anti-biotic for strep seems to be calming his

hand flapping down. Atleast that is my hope. He's only been on it

three days.

I remembered once before when he'd been put on sulfatrim for an

infection that he'd quit hand flapping by end of the course and then

began again later, and so my doc was willing to put him on it for a

longer term trial anti-biotic to see how it goes. Interesting too.

After I'd mentioned to him that I felt hand flapping was related to

strep...he later told me that he was able to cure an elderly man who

he'd seen for some time who had a motor tick with his hand that

really seemed to embarrass him. He's treated for strep and it went

away. Here I am rambling...sorry. It's just very fascinating to

me.
