Guest guest
I'm no expert and I haven't had any tests done yet as I haven't been in to see Dr. G yet but those results look to me like he is definitely viral. Guest guest
This definitely sounds to me like strep infection....the red ears we have seen here. Your son's ASO is very high. High strep titers should be treated with prolonged course of antibiotics. What has your doctor said about the high strep numbers? During antibiotic treatment, supplement with acidophilus 2 times per day, at least 1 hour apart from the antibiotics. I hope this helps! > > Hi Everyone, > > Please excuse the cross posting. > > I could really use some input with regard to my 7 year old son's lab > results. Guest guest
Sorry to bump this so soon as I know how busy you all are, I'm trying to get my head around what to say to the Endo Kind Regards Debbie > > Hi could anyone please help me with my " normal " results, before I see the Endo. Guest guest
Debbie - go here in our Files Section thyroid treatment/files/NHS%20TREATMENT/ and click on 'First Visit to Endocrinologist' - there is lots of information there giving you tips and questions to ask etc. Try to take somebody with you and after he has checked out your blood test results, ask that you be tested to see whether you have thyroid antibodies or not. These are TPO and TgAb. Luv - Sheila Sorry to bump this so soon as I know how busy you all are, I'm trying to get my head around what to say to the Endo Kind Regards Debbie > > Hi could anyone please help me with my " normal " results, before I see the Endo. Guest guest
Hi could anyone please help me with my "normal" results, before I see theEndo. These are from my GP, the Endo asked for his own tests.> TSH 1.77 (0.27-4.7) was 2.22 last week> FT4 15.7 (12-22)> FT3 4.1 (2.8-7.1)Hi Debbie, Without knowing your history and which and how much thyroid meds – if any at all - you are taking, the first thought that comes into my head when looking at the above results is that if you are taking thyroid meds at all, it's too little and if you are not on any thyroid meds you need to have your thyroid autoantibodies checked (TPO, TgAB and TRAB). Fluctuating "normal" TSH is often a sign for Hashimoto's disease (autoimmune thyroiditis). With best wishes,
Guest guest
Hi Thankyou for your reply and your time and experience. I am almost sure that my GP did the antibody tests, sorry but I cant put my hand on the results. They would have been in the normal range. I went to see Endo Tuesday he may have asked for these tests, I know that he asked for a few inc T3 & T4 as we were not sure if the labs had already done them as they had previously refused. I also did a SST test on Tuesday but I'm sure that will be ok as my saliva test from Genova was ok a couple of weeks ago. I have just had four days of feeling quite well(2 days prior and 2 days after SST test) but have gone backwards again today. I did come to after eating lunch. I am not on any thyroid medication, but I do have a lot of the symptoms, my major ones being extreme fatigue, weakness, spaced out, weight and joint/muscle pain stiffness. My liver enzymes have gone up again even though I have not had any alcohol in 9 months. Readings as follows serum total protein 78g/l (64-83) albumin 48g/L (35-52) globulin 30g/L (20-37) Total Bilirubin 19umol/L(0-19) Alk Phos HI 126 u/L (35-104) ALT HI 165 u/L (0-35) was down to 50 last month Gamma GT HI 212 u/L (6-42) " 173 " " FSH HI 14 iu/L (3-13) was 66 in November NO HRT >> > TSH 1.77 (0.27-4.7) was 2.22 last week > > FT4 15.7 (12-22) > > FT3 4.1 (2.8-7.1) > > Folate HI 19 (3.1-17.5) B12 301 (191-663) Ferritin 193 (range?) > > I am due to have a telephone call from my Endo this weeks when he gets the results of my tests and I was just wondering what to say if as I expect the tests are within the " normal " range. Kind Regards Apologies for length of message Debbie x
