Guest guest
Has happened to me twice. Never knew the patients before, they set appt, then didn't show. I sent them a notice that I can not accept them in the practice, period. Didn't hear back from either.Patients I've worked with, the first no-show is " on me " and I warn them about future $30 charge. Almost all of them are very apologetic and simply got busy and messed up, etc. Could happen to me honestly, so I'm pretty forgiving.... also helps that most of my patients followed me from my former office, so I have a long relationship with them, and new patients joined because they like the concept so they are invested too ... I suspect as a bunch, that mix limits the disrespecful/abusive patients.AppointmentQuest helps a lot due to the reminder going out 2-days before the appt. But that has been discussed before on the list.TimOn Fri, February 8, 2008 9:55 am EST, RGMS wrote: How do you all deal with first timepatient no shows? I find these folks are the most likely tono show as they have no “bond” yet. Can not “bill” forit since they have not been here yet and have had one or two that did this morethan once! If people want their forms filled out, w/o a visit, they are usuallyhappy to pay. No shows usually understand, and I have it in the billing policythey all sign at first visit. Most are very apologetic when they miss as theyvalue my time. I don’t always charge for no shows – just when theyare down right disrespectful. A.
