Guest guest
Both my sons tested sky high for having B-12 in their blood. Dr G said it is no good to give it to them until they can process it properly. I don't know when you can tell they start processing it right. I guess by taking it and seeing the labs? I don't know. I had another Dr tell me to give my son zinc sulfate too. Dr G said lets test his blood for that and he was in the high range for zinc too. So my guess is giving him more wouldn't help because he isn't absorbing it but dumping it in his blood. Jerri
Guest guest
Cat, We tried the spray on my son. We didn't get any " wows " . I don't think it hurt, but I don't think it helped, so we stopped it ($$$). My son tests off the charts high for B vitamins, so I think he's not processing what his body has. So, adding more in his case wouldn't help. I'm a long-time b-12 shot user. My husband gives them to me as needed (I feel like I want to start smoking again). The type of B I get is different from the MeB12 that is used for kids on the spectrum. Oral B vitamins aren't enough for me. Kristy MB-12 Nasal Spray? Has anyone on this site used the MB-12 Nasal spray for their child? I've been watching Stan Kurtz's site (his son Ethan is " recovered " from autism using antivirals and MB-12 nasal spray)he has some interesting science documentary info on how MB-12 nasal spray changes the brain on persons with adhd, and how this was one of the components that cured his son's autism, in addition to valtrex and nizoral/diflucan. (his videos are great too!) He even references dr g's neurospect scans from his old presentations on his website. There is no doubt about the power of the B vitamins, we just went thru a 9 month stint of having a really hard time with my son only to find out the problem wasn't ssri's it was vitamin b deficiency. He presented with cracks in the cornners of his mouth, and other places on his lips starting 9 mo ago, recurring frequently. Not knowing that this was the issue I was blaming the ssri's. Although the ssri's were definitely to blame for the depletion of nutrients from his body. I added in a vitamin b complex 150 and after 3 weeks he was back to his old self again. I can't tell you how incredible that is. So I really believe Stan has something right when he talks about the B vitamins. Anyway, sorry for the long witnessing statement....but I do want to know if any of you are doing the mb-12 nasal spray. I am not sure if my son really needs it with taking the oral b complex, but I do believe there is some argument out there that mb-12 gets absorbed much better in spray and crosses the blood barrier into the brain. let me know....thanks again, sorry so long cat
Guest guest
My concern would be the danger of combining mb12 with SSRI's. I think you might want to ask the mb12 valtrex board about this..specifically Stan who is well aware and respectful of Dr G but goes a different route when it comes to doing MB12 spray rather than an SSRI. Guest guest
Thanks Kristy: I mentioned I didn't think my son needed the nasal spray because he takes oral b complex. I just wanted to know if the spray was really much better then the oral vitamins....from your post I think we are okay with what we are doing so I won't change anything. I don't know about the dumping issue mentioned in another post. But I do know for my son, the vitamin b deficiency he went thru was a major problem, and it amazed me how adding in b complex really turned things around. Going thru this nightmare for the last 9mo has really given me new respect for how important vitamins and nutrients are, and I know for my kiddo that alot of these ssri's he takes really strip alot of nutrients out of his body so supplments are important. thanks again. cat Kristy Nardini <krnardini@...> wrote: Cat, We tried the spray on my son. Guest guest
Wow, Kristy! Would you mind replying to me off list and telling me how it works with smoking cessation? Obviously, I'm a smoker... Cheryl On Dec 5, 2006, at 10:51 AM, Kristy Nardini wrote: > > I'm a long-time b-12 shot user. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, Hehehe - I'm not sure if B12 can be the magic bullet for getting off cigs..I was getting the shots while I was a smoker, and never made a connection between getting the shots and wanting to smoke less. I feel jittery and crave cigarettes now when I need a shot. Within an hour of having a shot the craving goes away and I feel like I've been to the spa, so it might be worth a try if you want to quit smoking. Hang in there! It took me 5 years to quit! It has been 5+ years and I will NEVER go back. Kristy
