clonidine v tenex

Has anyone's child tolerated one of these but not the other? We have

a prescription to start clonidine for my 4 year old son to help with

his ADHD issues at pre-school (can't sit during circle time,

difficulty with transitioning, shifting attention, participating in

activities, which all seems to relate to sensory overload, as he can

go back to his small group at his VBA center and concentrate and

participate just fine, but at the pre-school there are 12 kids instead

of 3-4 and its not as loud and distracting) but I noticed here that

many children who have tried the alpha-2-agonists usually use Tenex

and I have heard that clonidine can be very sedating, so I was curious

about experiences and also if any one has noticed improvement in the

things I mentioned above with low-dose SSRIs instead of the typical

ADHD meds (stimulants, Straterra, Tenex, etc).

Thanks for any comment.
