Guest guest
What a difference! That number one really does a number. The health food store didn't have some of the herbs that were in it so I substituted poplar bark for the cascara sagrada. It still gets one moving pretty good though I noticed a hint of griping so added some powdered raspberry leaves. Now it's smooth. I loaded it into capsules and put a label on it " GUT SCOUR " , don't my friends at the health food store wince when they see that. The second mix they really wince at. I was too cheap to buy psyllium when my garden is full of plantain going to seed. Plantain is in the psyllium family and the seeds are nearly the same medicinally. Haven't dug my marshmallow root (been waiting for the frost to kill the top growth) but even so the intestinal cleanse formula #2 seems to work pretty good. I renamed it BOWEL TROWEL. To get the activated charcoal for the mix, I used the a can with a lid. Activated means made under controlled reduced oxygen conditions. Punched a hole in the lid with a nail and filled the can with lumps of willow snipped from the ditch. Stuck it in a fire and watched it vent off the excess through the hole (watch carefully to make sure the exhaust gases don't ignite, that's how you can loose a batch). After an hour or so the billowing white vapor cut down a lot and rolled it out, plug the hole with a stick, and let it cool. Running it throught the coffee grinder gives you your fine activated charcoal. So, I am excited enough to write detailed descriptions of how well they work but we don't know each other quite THAT much yet. Love the postings folks, you have a great group here.
