Fascinating results you are having with bicarbonate...,Becky.

So sorry to hear the suffering ,too...

BUT maybe Activated Charcoal (see part 2 below)

might help WHEN TAKING the Bi carb?

(I just muscled tested it being ok together.)

(I'm 61... and all my youth.. my DAD and family

took Arm & Hammer baking soda for indigestion.!

Interesting how powerful that simple remedy can be

I've been RAVING about Lysine for our digestion AND

detox, dieoff symptoms... as I usually muscle test needing

4,000-5,000 mg. (8-10 pills per day or sometimes more)...

And about 3,000- 4,000 for my husband.

AND Over a year ago..

We use the Country Life Brand.. and he muscle tests well using

2 pills after each meal...but use 2 hours away from supplements or meds.

My husband and I often need 5-9 pills at least once per day.often at BEDTIME

..since we use LW Glutathione and Carnosine booster patches..

so we have continual dieoff toxins that is best mopped

up with the charcoal.... per muscle testing...

Even with no OUTward signs..

Other times.. if I have loose stools... A/Charcoal is great

to keep that under control as well ...)

( 5-8 pills SEVERAL times per day until stools are normal.

FYI---Vomiting can be controlled with A/C within 3 applications

of a handful of pills...or 2-3 TABLESPOONS.powder..

and others I know who used it.

RE: Yeast/fungus infections:

Kaufman, Ph.D., is a bio-nutritional chemist.

He reports.."Activated charcoal can be an effective adjunct

to any regimen for the treatment of systemic Candida albicans

infections". The toxins produced by Candida,are

effectively adsorbed by charcoal.

Charcoal curbs the growth of intestinal-based yeasts,

and it counteracts the Herxheimer reaction.

When, as a result of a successful treatment, there is

a large die -off of yeast cells, there is a severe, short term

aggravation of Candida symptoms due to the increased

amount of toxins produced. The Herxheimer reaction is often

SO UNPLEASANT that patients ABANDON treatment before completion.

Taking activated charcoal is one method for alleviating the

symptoms of yeast die-off so that patients can continue their

treatment and NOT SUFFER.

Dr Kaufman suggests 20-30 grams of activated charcoal a day

(RE: Oxalates...from Sue... since Candida overgrowth/ arabinose

is correlated with high amts. of oxalates it makes sense that charcoal

MAY help control oxalates as well...

( I notice when I eat high oxalate foods I muscle test needing more charcoal.

RE: PHENOLS...pg. 172...

Cooney, a University of Wyoming chemist, showed that

Charcoal had a High adsorptive capacity for PHENOLS...But

while the TOXIC PHENOLS adhered to the charcoal, the proteins did not.

( Struhsaker of Duke, was studying the RED Colobus monkeys on Zanzibar Island,

Tanzania....who ate leaves that were High in protein and PHENOLS

and found they instinctively eat the charred stumps, logs and branches...

to get their charcoal...to off set the Phenols in the leaf diets.)

RE: Colitis, Crohn's disease, IBS... Activated is to be taken internally by

babies or those with sensitive digestion ... MANY MANY pages cited.on this.

A. Charcoal is good for DIGESTION

Summary...

A puppy had contracted parvovirus...

since the family could not afford shots.

Parvo typically produces a noticeable smell.

but the poor pup had a PUTREFYING odor.

The prognosis is not good at this stage.

as most animals die at this stage.

Since--- she knew that charcoal helps

Very bad odor from wounds---

she gave activated charcoal to the dog

in his prepared dog food...

and another dose before sleeping.

The dog was completely WELL by morning

with no further problems.

Yes, I saw your post and about fell off my chair. I didn't get a chance to read the entire thing, yet. I just heard about bicarb a few weeks ago on Vitamin K. The list moderator, is a genius and has a great theory: the kidneys need bicarbonate and salt to sort of "unclog" and flush things out. I am using it to flush out calcium oxalates, which are crystals that get lodged in your tissues and organs and cause enormous pain. The pain is really bad in my son's feet and hands, because he drags them on the ground like he is trying to get something out. He has tons of crystals in his urine, despite being on VSL for 2 months. So, anyway, I started him on Klaire's Bicarbonate last Wednesday. I asked my DAN to carry it, but I can't remember if it was becasue I couldn't order it direct, or they were just ordering things that day anyway. (Dr. Brown is nice that way.)Before the Klaire's I tried Arm and Hammer, but it does not taste that good in water, the Klaires I can get away with in water, and a sprinkling of regular sugar. The bicarb has to be +/- 30-60 minutes of food, so 7pm works best, and that is when Brady wants water. (Twice a day in divided doses is recommended, but he is just doing once/day for now.) He loves water, just like the kid who accidentally was treated successfully with Secretin. Hmmm.....Anyway, I love that you dug up this paper becasue it explains a lot that has happened to Brady the last few days. Some of you may remember, Brady had a terrible/good yeast die off with 6 weeks of Valtrex and Diflucan, in November, then I quit because he was in SO much pain 24/7. My insurance co said he had had enough Diflucan for the year, so I bought Three Lac. He CANNOT tolerate it. After learning about oxalates, which are huge for him, I thought the oxalates were not the right mix with the Three lac. I tried Three Lac again on Sunday-just a sprinkling in his juice. WOW! He was acting possessed! He cried and screamed so hard. Pinching me repeatedly-really hard in my upper chest right below my neck. And it gets worse: The next day he had IVIG!Yes, that's right, a day at the clinic for 6 hours with a needle in his arm. It was the worst day of my life. The nurses had never seen Brady like that. He has had 6 IVIGs and 30 IV EDTAs-so he is a pro with IVs (which I never thought I would say, but I'll talk more about that in the next post for Kim). He was screaming all day and my chest was bright red by the time we left. It was surreal. He got a little better when he had a dinnertime BM, but still a little pinching. The next day, he pinched his aide at school, whom he loves, a little. Had a bad after school time until another BM, then changed back to old lovable self: cuddling and calm, etc. This is the interesting part: I see about 2 minures of this behavior every night about 30-60 minutes after giving him the bicarb. He acts just like he acts with Three Lac. Coincidence? I don't think so. Could the bicarb be doing something to the yeast? Wow!Can I forward your post to Vitamin K? In case others don't know, I didn't until Monday: What secretin does is allow the pancreas to secrete bicarb into your intestines to "neutralize the acid from the stomach and allow the enzymes in the duodendum to function" Shattock from ARI. I thought secretin was buried with other "cures of the day" ten years ago.Another interesting fact and why Dr. Brown ordered the Klaire's: Brady's bicarb on his blood test was low, out of ref range. Dr. Brown began testing all of his kids for bicarb recently. Guess what? Almost all were low in bicarb. Has anyone had their child's bicarb tested? I would love to know those results. Does anyone else see what I see or do I only seee it because I have a live patient? I know not all kids respond to secretin, but maybe there is a way to get kids to the point where they DO resond to secretin. I can find nothing on secretin other than studies that poo-poo its use for lack of results, but, on the other hand, I also can't find any studies that REALLY looked at who, how , why, etc, some kids respond. IE: Where were they in their biomed treatment? What did their bloodwork look like? Did they have yeast? Oxalates? Viruses? I could go on and on. That is why I posted my question about who had done it and what happened? Sorry this is so long, but it seems so crazy that Brady is starting Bicarb, I look up secretin, and it has to do with bicarb, and now cancer is a fungus and can be treated with bicarb? I didn't even know that Dr. Brown did secretin until Monday, when Brady was there for IVIG and another little boy was getting secretin.
