Guest guest
I made it today! Well, with a few changes....I **never** make a recipe the way it's written, always add in whatever I have on hand....<G> Anyway, this sucker was scrumptious -- I've eaten it today, have some for tomorrow, and will freeze some for later. This is what I did, and what I changed.... 6 lg onions, chopped 2 lg green bell peppers, chopped 2 whole tomatoes, chopped (I seeded them also) 1 large head of cabbage, sliced (I used 3/4 head and chopped) 1 bunch celery, chopped I added: 1 handful fresh parsley, chopped 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced 2 cloves garlic, minced 3 slices fresh ginger, peeled and minced 1 TB coarse sea salt 1/2 tsp fresh ground white pepper 1/4 tsp cayenne Place vegetables in large soup pot and cover with water. (I used 1 quart of organic vegetable stock and the rest water.) Bring to a low boil and then simmer for 45 minutes, stirring and adding seasonings to taste each 20 minutes. My dh came home from work *starving* and I gave him a cup of this while he was awaiting dinner...he loved it! Sharyn --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
