Hi - I've been saving incoming faxes for years on my computer as well as

printing them out. That system mysteriously failed a couple of weeks ago,

probably during fax/printer maintenance. At first I assumed the phone/fax lines

had just been plugged back in to the machine wrong, but that's not the case. I

computer is no longer saving incoming faxes into the inbox, nor is it forwarding

them to the folder where I store those faxes to sort into AC. I've tried

exploring Windows fax manager, etc - reset the destinations, can't seem to get

it to work. Brother fax/printer, though I don't think that's the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

PS - no need for discussion of using a different or better system - I do have

OneBox, I already get most of my labs that way via UpDox - but some stray faxes

end up still coming in on the office fax machine, I'm trying to keep those.

are you using the software that comes with Brother to store the faxes?does the fax line ring and then the fax just prints out or where does it go?what is it doing with those faxes, is it accepting them at all?LynnTo: From: NGuinn555@...Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2008 15:53:38 +0000Subject: windows expertise/fax

The fax line rings, the page prints out as always. No, I don't use the brother software. It's always been organized (but of course I can't remember how as I set it up 5 years ago) to store the fax in Windows Fax Inbox, forward a copy to the appropriate folder for sorting also. All the set up looks right to me, which means there's something I'm missing. . . It's not even keeping faxes in the Windows fax inbox, just printing them.  are you using the software that comes with Brother to store the faxes?does the fax line ring and then the fax just prints out or where does it go?what is it doing with those faxes, is it accepting them at all?LynnTo: From: NGuinn555comcast (DOT) netDate: Fri, 6 Jun 2008 15:53:38 +0000Subject: windows expertise/faxHi - I've been saving incoming faxes for years on my computer as well as printing them out. sorry I've never used windows fax, there's a setting on paperport that you have to toggle on - cleverly enough it says 'receive fax to PC' otherwise they just pass through as paper.did you do this? To set Microsoft Fax to receive faxes, click Start, choose Control

Panel, click Printers And Other Hardware, and click View Installed

Printers Or Fax Printers. Right-click the Fax icon and choose

Properties; in the dialog box that appears, click the Device tab, the

Properties button, and the Receive tab. Select the Enable

Device To Receive box. In the CSID (called subscriber identification)

box, enter the information you want a fax sender to receive with his

fax delivery confirmati....the article is here:http://tinyurl.com/5n3qmlTo: From: NGuinn555@...Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2008 15:53:42 -0600Subject: Re: windows expertise/fax
