Guest guest
Hi Sue, Welcome to the list. Sorry your daughter is not doing well. I don't know for sure if there are ticks in India, but I know they are in many other countries. Does she recall seeing ticks on the dogs while she was there? I also do not know if others on this list were misdiagnosed with CFIDS, before testing positive for Lyme disease, but I know of many others in other forums I have read and a few personally. If there are any on this list, they will soon reply to you. Check out this web site: http://www.execpc.com/~jbehnke/ If after reading the symptom check list, and the diagnostic testing pages, you think she may have Lyme disease, let us know where you live approximately and we will try to help you find a Lyme literate physician in your area. Guest guest
Kay, CFIDS stands for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, not sure if the ID stands for Infectious disease or not. Has your daughter always been in India or has she spent time in the US? It could be if she has been to the US or even another country like Europe that she contracted Lyme there. I dont know if there are Lyme infected ticks in India but there is always the potential. I was diagnosed with CFIDS in Jan by an Internal Medicine doc at the University here in MI. She told me it would take a year to feel better and to just go home and get lots of rest and I would recover slowly without treatment or any problems. First off from what Ive read CFS does not cause the neuro problems I am having and instead of getting better I have gotten worse. Thats becausse I have Lyme not CFS. Please get your daughter to an LLD in your area and have her evaluated. There are too many docs that are willing to take the easy CFS way out. In my case it was a diagnosis used because the docs here wont admit that Lyme exists in this state. Guest guest
Hi Sue B. I'm sorry to hear about you daughter's problems. I was misdiagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome 10 years ago. I don't know if there are deer ticks or Lyme in India, but since the symptoms of CFIDS and Lyme are similar, I would continue to investigate Lyme. Hope this helps...
