Guest guest
Hah! Yes, the B levels are high because of the vitamins I take. They are just multis - no specific Bs. Not worth dropping the multi though is it? I thought I was doing damn well on the calcium.... Kris > > Kristy, > > Your PTH is elevated which means you need more calcium. Guest guest
No, you have to take your multi. Mine are high, too, because three of my daily calciums have extra vitamins, almost as much as my daily. The rest of my calcium has vit D and a few minerals, but no other vitamins. I figure as long as I do not have any signs or symptoms of vitamin overdose, I am not going to worry about it. Marta > > Hah! Yes, the B levels are high because of the vitamins I take. Guest guest
You probably need an increase in your hydrocortisone. And I would work on getting that ferritin a little higher, too. Kill the fatted calf and tell Pa to fire up the grill. Eating meat is at least as important as taking iron. Chelated ferrous bisglycinate is a form of iron that is supposed to be easier on the stomach than some other forms. My doc told me that his goal for my ferritin is about 115. If that is a fasting glucose, it is near the top of its range. I would pay attention to glucose levels now, before you get into the pre-diabetic zone. Besides diet, again, a little more hydrocortisone may help. Stress reduction and getting enough sleep are other important factors in keeping blood glucose under control. I would suggest not trying to increase your Armour any more until you address the ferritin and cortisol issues. Your Free T4 is quite low in its range. But I remember that you could not tolerate synthetic T4. Your hypo symptoms are most likely from the low Free T4. Your hyper-like symptoms are most likely due to the adrenal issues. As for the estrogens, the menopausal range is not a goal. Most of us find it desirable to have levels a little higher than that. What dose of progesterone made you feel bad? You may benefit from and be able to tolerate a very small dose. When I first started the hormones, I could not tolerate 35 mg of progesterone. I am now on 75 mg and tolerating it pretty well. sle816@... wrote: Hello I have recently gotten my latest lab results back from Dr. M triglicerides 121 less than 150 chol. total 171 less than 200 hdl 52 greater than 40 ldl 95 less than 130 glucose 98 65-99 estrone 77 postmenopausal 15-55 - altough it says this was in range? ferritin 57 10-232 progesterone 0.9 postmenopausal less than 0.7 t4 free 1.0 0.8-1.8 testosterone 57 20-76 tsh 0.03 0.40-5.50 (considered out of range) estradiol 22 post menopaulsal less than 27 free t3 395 230-420 my hematocrit was out of range slightly at 45.1 range 35.0-45.0 Currently I am on 3 gr or armour - I tried to up this to 3.25 grains and felt very anxious so I have dropped down. I was having bad palpitations, but they are minimal now. I still feel anxious and have a full feeling in my thryoid - it is tender - like when I have thyroiditis - perhaps I am having a mild bout of this - not sure I also take .25 mg estradiol; 7.5 mg compounded hydrocortisone. I have tried progesterone and I feel really really bad on it. I am taking an iron supplement, but it is a glandular and I am thinking that although I am loathe to do it, I may try an iron supplement. I am still tired, but I have been very hot and thirsty of late...Half of my symptoms are hypo and some are hyper...what do ya'll think??? I am scheduled to see Dr. M end of month. He said to go up by .25 gr every week or so until I felt optimal....but I am having trouble with anymore raises???? When I was at 2.75 gr. they palpitations were bad. I had also been out of the iron supplement for awhile, too, so Im not sure which it was....comments,,please!!!! Guest guest
Your ferritin looks very low. This looks like one of the culprits behind your fatigue. Mid range for what you show is 121. You are into the bottom 25% of the range. Your body doesn't have much iron stored up to work with, and if the iron is not in good shape, it's hard to work in the Armour. How much iron supplement are you on in mgs per day? Do you eat beef daily? Dark beans like pinto, red kidney or black? Iron problems are tricky. When you become anemic, it's sometimes hard to get it built back up fast. And since you ran out of supplement, you may have caused a slide - how long were you without any iron supplementation? I don't know about glandular forms of iron supplementation, but I take a tablet form, ferrous bisglycinate, that raised my ferritin quite a lot - like from 94 to 194 in about 13 months. I have problems with iron utilization, in that, although I store the iron, my serum iron has stayed low, my total iron binding capacity (# of empty slots on the transferrin molecule) is rather high, and so my percent iron saturation is low. So I have a full " warehouse " but the " trucks " show up and leave with lots of empty " bins " . I'm not providing a lot of iron to make hemoglobin with lots of oxygen attached on the molecule. So what hemoglobin I do make, runs around with low #s of oxygen and my cells are starved. If your doc isn't studying your iron utilization along with your ferritin, you aren't getting the whole picture. Mid-range for your Free T4 is 1.3, and you are below that. But your Free T3 is above mid-range, so that seems better. Maybe someone will comment on this. I don't know what others might think, but adding .25gr of Armour every week seems way to fast to me. It takes several weeks to show it's full strength. My doc has had me increase .50 gr every 6 months, since my iron and other supports, like iron, vitamins and minerals, DHEA and other hormones, were in bad shape. It all needs to be getting better at the same time, so you have support for increases. It's ok to go slowly. You shouldn't put up with feeling bad with the intense heart palps! Do you have a lab value for cortisol? JMHO, but I think you need to go slower and get that iron issue resolved and give yourself time to heal before slamming into more Armour. Guest guest
Ok, it still looks to me like you may have/have had a conversion of T4 to T3 problem, unLESS you were on a ridiculously low amt of T4 all this time and you're just now actually getting some thyroid hormone into your system. Re: Lab Results Sorry about that. I just started on Armour on Friday. I am currently on 1 1/2 grains a day. Prior to that I was on .137mcg of Synthoid. No poisioning that I am aware of. Any other questions, please ask. Thanks. Christi Randall Independent Consultant - Arbonne International ID# 15652591 www.arbonne.com
Guest guest
, Without a FT3 test you can't say that. 1.5 grain isn't a lot and she just started on it from Synthroid. I'd wait 3 weeks and test making sure that the FT3 was tested this time. Guest guest
funny thing is we did ask for the Free T3 - I saw the dr write it on the paperwork myself. I have discussed that with him and when I go back in 6wks we will try again. May be the lab that misread what we wanted done. I had been off the syntroid for about 10 days when i had the blood tests done. i had run out and knew I was no longer going to take it so did not want to waste my money on it (especially since my husband and I just split up and I am having to do this alone) since I was going to buy the armour and had no idea what that cost was going to be (turned out to be cheaper than the synthroid).
