We had our first appointment with Dr G in April, and at the time my son's ears

were so full of wax and really distressing him. Dr G told us to drop a little

hydrogen peroxide (available over the counter) in them over the next couple of

weeks and it would clear it.

It was very gentle - fizzed up and eased the wax out gradually. No problems

since then.

Hope this helps,

Elspeth

Re: Very sick little boy

I am so sorry you are going through this. I wish I had some advice for

you. I remember when my son was 4. It seemed like one crisis after

another. Now there are different crisis' but at least he is not so sick.

We took him to the emergency room so many times at that age. I remember

constantly doubting Dr. G then also. But thankfully we have stuck in

here. My son had ear tubes put in last Dec. He is 9 years old and will

be 10 in Jan. He started talking real loud again. I took him to the ENT

and he said his right tube is missing. There was a lot of wax my son

would not let him get out. He told me to put a few drops of mineral oil

to keep the ear wax dissolved. I have also been using the old fashioned

ear candles. They pull the wax out. I know this is not information for

your situation right now. But maybe something for the future? I'm

supposed to take him back to the ENT for them to decide whether to put

another tube in there. I have been putting it off because I so dread for

him to have another surgery.

I'm hoping and praying your son will be well soon. Jerri
