Hi Kay,

B Vitamins will help yes. B-3 in particular but he will need them all.

What is his diet like and forgive me for asking, if you already have

mentioned this previously, but what is his age?

Thanks for asking.

Right now, he is not living with me. I finally couldn't stand it, and I sent him to his dad's.

He won't eat right. He is a teenager and he believes that junk food is the best source of food as it tastes very good. He is in reasonable physical condition.

When he goes manic, he becomes a super fiend. It is hard to control him, and he is sure that he is invincible. When he gets depressed, he sleeps 16 hours a day at times.

Kay

I would suggest reading all you can about fats. They seem to play a really important roll in brain function. Today kids eat very little Omega 3's and almost all Omega 6's. Then there's all that hydrogenated fat out there as well.

The brain contains a lot of fat, so if you aren't taking in the basic building blocks of your brain. would follow that it couldn't work very well.

I just read he is a teen ager... you have your work cut out for you. They just don't buy the food connection at all. And even less so from a parent. They are also impatient and expect to take one fish oil capsule and be healed in 20 mins LOL I shouldn't laugh.. it's really not funny, darn frustrating when you have a real sick kid and they don't cooperate with your best efforts.

If you try supplementing with fish oils, be sure the oils you use have been tested to free of heavy metals. Mercola recommends Carlson brand, and that's what I use.

I heard that my son's problem is that his neurotransmitters are not working properly. They are either overfiring or underfiring. I know that vitamin B might help that. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

I've also heard Omega-3 oils are helpful in correcting depression problems.

The diet is so key to ones demeanor as well as ones physical health. He

will receive no reprieve until he cleans up his diet. He has to see for

himself that his choices are creating his reality. He will not be able

to change until he does. What a wonderful world of junk food addicts we

have created. What a wonderful world of physical/emotional/spiritual

misery and woe we have allowed to be foisted onto us.

It is truly time to take responsibility for your own health and allow no

one to dictate your health to you.
