Guest guest
My son very often had dilated pupils. This seemed to get a little better on the protocol. Alot of times when he was reacting to something, he would have huget pupils. I couldn't stand it. Most of the times when he was off in his behavior, you could see his pupils dilated. Guest guest
Hi , Has your son had an MRI of his brain to rule out Chiari Malformation/ or other issues ,increased ICP, ect.? Dialated pupils can be from drugs, but most likely, this is an automonic nervous system problem and an MRI and EEG should be done sooner rather than later. Guest guest
, Tesla's eyes, too, were very dialated once. I couldn't keep her diaper on, and she was a nutcase. I remember the " witch doctor " telling me it was a sign her immune system was on full-tilt boogie. If Klein wasn't being treated, I'd be very concerned. As it is, I think you can say it's a secondary sign of the die-off. Until this period passes, the heavy dialation probably won't go away completely. It sucks, really; I know. But the little guy feels pretty terrible right now and all you can do is hide the breakables and try to reduce his discomfort. Peptidze from Houston Neutraceuticals is recommended for flushing yeast protein waste products from the body, and others here have recommended charcoal tablets, too, to reduce the side-effects of die-off. It's not protocal, but we found arnica drops and marshmallow root to help during the recovery. Think about you often, shanna dialted pupils Has anyone's child gotten dialated pupils while following the protocol? My son's eyes have been very dialted the last two days & of course he's going " nutty " ... he's only 3 and nonverbal. He's running around our house in circles, pulling his diaper off, standing on his head- literally- flapping.... URGH!!!! I'm hoping it's just a die off symptom or something. Any thoughts?? Guest guest
Hi - You didn't just switch to soy products recently, did you? Or add a food w/soy lecithen, hydrolyzed soy protein, or soy protein concentrate, did you? Usually, that would not be called " very dilated " , so I'm assuming it isn't that, but I throw that in just in case that is the only change. Also, if you just started Diflucan or something, it could be a reaction to pink dye in a pill, or blue dye if you started Valtrex and didn't wash off the dye. This would be something you want documented by his pediatrician ASAP. It is usually some type of neurological irritation, or autonomic nervous system being out of sorts, or something, but can also be a neurological sign that should be checked out. At the very least, it is hard to get our medical community to view our kids as sick, so this is something you want to be observed, documented, and evaluated. If you're w/Dr G, be sure to report it. (I don't think this will surprise him but if they are very very dilated be sure to emphasize that.) If you want to give more details on changes we could chime in more, and let us know what you find out, as this comes up periodically. Best of luck and hang in there during the " psychosis " . We feel for you ! --- The Hacklers <thehacks@...> wrote: > Has anyone's child gotten dialated pupils while > following the > protocol? Guest guest
Yes, we started diflucan a couple weeks ago... He's been on the valtrex for quite a while, so I'm assuming it's not that. He also recently started zoloft, but I " m leaning more to thinking it is from diflucan and/or die off associated with it. Thanks for all of your thoughts... keep them coming whenever you like! --- <thecolemans4@...> wrote: > Hi - > > You didn't just switch to soy products recently, did > you? Guest guest
My son's eyes were dilated even before starting the protocol. They have come and gone ever since. Dr G is aware and seems to not be overly concerned but it tells him my son's nervous system is still whacky. > > > > > Has anyone's child gotten dialated pupils while > > > following the > > > protocol? Guest guest
Dr G told us this was a sign my son's central nervous system is not in control. I can always tell he is way off when his eyes are dialated. Jerri The Hacklers wrote: > Has anyone's child gotten dialated pupils while following the > protocol? Guest guest
Hi - Does the Diflucan have pink dye? (2 weeks is not an uncommon time period for my son's reactions to peak.) If it is, that could be a problem, so if it doesn't resolve you may want to consider that. I'm sorry if you've already mentioned it and I don't remember. Best of luck! --- Curtis and Hackler <thehacks@...> wrote: > Yes, we started diflucan a couple weeks ago... He's > been on the valtrex for quite a while, so I'm > assuming > it's not that. Guest guest
What alternative to Dyflucan would not have dye? I know that and dye are not good together and I am wondering if the dye could be some of her recent challenges. Sheri <thecolemans4@...> wrote: Hi - Does the Diflucan have pink dye? Guest guest
I used to be able to buy a generic Diflucan thru Sandoz that was a white pill. I've been told there are other versions too. Sandoz became unavailable - at least near me (AL). It can also be compounded dye-free. I used to get it from Friendly Hills before generics came out. I paid a slightly higher copay for compounding - the generic was quite cheap (w/my insurance). It's worth calling a few major chains and asking them to look in their computer for any white versions. I also get a duller pinkish generic that my boys don't seem to be reacting to. That's just a bit cheaper than compounding - but I don't think much. It seems the dye in Diflucan was worse than ANY other dye we've ever had reactions to, but it took a while to build up. Hope that helps- --- Sheri <eszbi5@...> wrote: > What alternative to Dyflucan would not have dye? Guest guest
Eating something with milk will do it big time. It's like he is on LSD or something. Soy is a close second. Sometimes it happens when he is coming down with an illness and going off the Famvir onto the Acyclovir caused dialated pupils also. It does go away with time as all of the above things clear up. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who has been sharing your comments with me! It's always encouraging and good to hear from others who have " been there, done that " . This is all such a roller coaster ride. We have so much confidence in Dr. Goldberg and think he's the most passionate person working for our kids. We're thankful that we were able to see him and are son is being treated by him. This is a slow process, but hopefully the beginning of the end of it all! --- Jerri Gann <njgann@...> wrote: > Eating something with milk will do it big time. It's > like he is on LSD > or something. Guest guest
Yea, right on the ingredients is listed red dye #40. We cannot get the white one from Sandoz either. Our latest version is from Dr Reddys Lab, and although it looks salmon in color, it does not have red dye listed as an additivie. > > > > > Yes, we started diflucan a couple weeks ago... > > He's > > > been on the valtrex for quite a while, so I'm > > > assuming > > > it's not that. Guest guest
That must be the difference in why we're not reacting. It's sorta salmon here, too. I don't know the maker but will ask. I love it when things add up. --- meljackmom <meljackmom@...> wrote: > Yea, right on the ingredients is listed red dye #40. > We cannot get the white one from Sandoz either. > Our latest version is from Dr Reddys Lab, and > although it looks > salmon in color, it does not have red dye listed as > an additivie. > __________________________________________________
