, how do you text from the computer? How can you tell if a cellphone will

accept text? Even I could text from a keboard, but this thumbtyping is not

something that I want to be doing.

You can only text from a computer if you know what network the cellphone is on - so I don't do it that often. Ithink it would work in Jean's area, as they only have one or two networks. But, if you do know the network, all the phone systems have sites, just go there, type in the phone number, type a message and send it. My receptionist uses it to page me. We probably need to get over this "thumb" thing all us older folks have - I think it's going to be one of the bigger generation gaps :)Anyway, an easy cheat is to get one of the cell phones that have alpha-numeric capability and use it. No one receiving your emails will ever know you are cheating! They don't have to be the expensive phones - I just got a Samsung with that feature to save my thumbs! My daughter tried it out, thought it was more work than her usual number key pad.  , how do you text from the computer? How can you tell if a cellphone will accept text?
