Guest guest
Hi Dorrie, I shouldn’t think so…sometimes I am able to do a little conditioning/exercise when I’m in remission but that’s all. Guest guest
Hi Dorie, I am in Physical Therapy to strengthen my neck muscles for cervical instability. The PT is taking things very slowly. She lets me work at my own pace and I can stop if I need to. She has me take frequent breaks. I also do the exercises at home. I had some added fatigue at first which passed. This week was my 5th week, she added a pound to the exercises. I had some mild fatigue. I did less repetitions and will build up slowly. Happy New Year! Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Take care of you. Big gentle huggles, Di in Feasterville-Trevose, PA ) dimntd on AIM, IRC, ICQ & Yahoo! Guest guest
Hello, Di, It sounds like they really understand and are being sensitive to your needs at PT. If I could find something like that I might have the courage to try again. I keep looking and hoping. Guest guest
I would be very interested in knowing how to do these neck exercises ... hopefully without any special equipment? Battling many tension headaches lately. Thanks! T. Guest guest
, I always start with heat on my neck & shoulders for 20 minutes. I sit with the palm of my hand against the side of my head and push my head into my hand very gently. I hold for a count of 3. There is almost no movement involved mostly the tightening of the neck muscles. The hardest part is making sure I am not tilting my head. I now do 10, rest and then 10 more. I make a fist and put it under my chin and push my head down on my fist. I hold for a count of 3. Again there is almost no movement. I now do 10, rest and then 10 more. She also has me work on a hand bike. The other exercises are done with resistance bands. With tension headaches try and keep your jaw muscles relaxed. Happy New Year! Any questions ask, I'm not shy. Guest guest
These sound so easy, Di, and I've been looking for ways to strengthen my neck after a year of barely using it. Have these very small muscle workouts helped your neck? Jayne ------------ Di wrote: I sit with the palm of my hand against the side of my head and push my head into my hand very gently.
