Guest guest
Our neuros told us that infantile spasm is a very particular kind of seizure, and is most often medicated by ACTH injections, or Vigabitrin. Ask your neuro about these. They each come with their own list of side effects which need to be monitored closely. Good luck, Thea Re: Baby twitching Phenobarbital did nothing to stop my daughter's infantile spasms. (She has complex partials too.) Maybe your doctor could try something else for your baby. We had 21 months of seizure freedom on Keppra. It is a good med; it does not induce such drowsiness as some of the other seizure meds but it can cause a " rage " in some kids--my daughter's raging was brief with med increase only. --
Guest guest
My girl has been on vigabactrim for a year nw and has also had the acth treatment, she is the best she has ever been. Also has short courses of steriods a few times a year. They can do eye tests to check the affects of the vig, we are booked in for next mth. I guess if there was a problem you i would have to reconsider our options. But so far so gd. Thnx. Kat -original message- Subject: Re: Re: Baby twitching From: theasprague@... Guest guest
It's very important to stopped them as soon as possible, it took us 1yr to get out of it. Every child will react differently, but did well with Topomax and Prednisolone, then ACTH. We also did Ketogenic Diet for a year.
