Guest guest
Any suggestions for ipad speech and matching apps? I get overwhelmed just looking. I have a 2 yr old BFPP who tries so hard to talk and every now and then gets a word out, like monkey, elmo and butterfly but only once and then she seems only to approximate. Thank you everyone for suggestions.
Guest guest
We are getting our son TJ an IPad for his 2nd birthday in early Nov. He has generalized bilateral PMG affecting his entire brain. He is non-verbal and has spastic quad CP. He has shown the ability to isolate his index finger in the past few months and has been using an IPad purposefully in therapy, so we are excited to get this for him. I have chosen to use the IComm app. There's a free version or you can upgrade for $7.99 It will be alot of work b/c you have to upload pictures yourself to put in each category (food, play, people) and record your own words, but it is the only communication app that I have found that only offers 2 choices on the screen at a time. right now that is all my son can handle due to his spastic movements. I am excited to try it. What a blessing it would be for him to finally have a voice! > > > Subject: Re:ipad matching apps > To: polymicrogyria > Date: Friday, October 28, 2011, 7:05 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > Any suggestions for ipad speech and matching apps? I get overwhelmed just > > looking. I have a 2 yr old BFPP who tries so hard to talk and every now and > > then gets a word out, like monkey, elmo and butterfly but only once and then she > > seems only to approximate. Thank you everyone for suggestions. > > > >
Guest guest
Hello, my son is 4 and has been using Proloquo2go for a year. It is a bit of an expensive app, but it is a great help. What i did when he was younger (3) and before i knew Proloquo existed, was i created photo albums and imported them into the iPad. So when i asked him questions, what he wanted to eat or drink, or play with, rather than a response back (with a sign or sound) that could only be yes or no, he could answer with options, and became immediatly interested in communicating back to us with the iPad. So proloquo was a natural transition, it is much richer in terms of library of things and concepts, and it speaks out loud... Being French, we are eagerly waiting the french version, because it only speaks back in English... but that might not be an issue for you. If you have more questions about apps, feel free to contact me. regards cedric > > Any suggestions for ipad speech and matching apps? I get overwhelmed just > looking.
