Guest guest
Rochelle, What was your best resource for following the low glycemic index diet? How long was your daughter on the diet before you saw decreased seizure activity? Is she also on meds or were you able to decrease meds with the diet? Thanks for the info. I like that this diet is simpler.--, mom to Rose, 8yr old with Lissencephaly PS-Your daughter is beautiful. Guest guest
Hi , We saw a decrease in seizure activity about 2 days after implementing the diet. We were thrilled. Whether or not we use less meds over it is unknown because we've never ommitted the diet. However, if we give her a full banana (med glycemic food and contains 27 carbs which is her daily allottment) we are guaranteed a clusters or an increase in quantity or frequency. That, we know. We are still on Keppra - just took her off Topomax. Looking to either remove Keppra or add Felbitol (sp?). We also believe it's a very healthy diet overall. And, with all of the issues andra will have in life, we'd like to decrease her cavity and infection rate.
