Hi everyone. The news is mixed....

Good news is that the leak is in the connector between the

port and the tubing. Apparently this connector is metal and can fray the edges

of the tubing leading to leakage. So he can fix it in day surgery. So I am

booked in for Jan 5 (the earliest) BUT he will have to inspect the band to see

how it is going and as it is 5 years old it may have deteriorated a bit and he

may make the decision to change it. If so he will have to take it out and I

have opted for the sleeve if he has to remove it. So I hope that the band has

aged well in my tummy and that it is still as perky as ever!!

Other news...I had all my bloods done and they have come up

with some strange readings. My blood sugar has increased to 10! I have always

been around 5 so this is unexplained. Also my vitamin D and vitamin B12 are

really low so I have to have injections for both. He is going to re-do the

tests in about 3 months to check to see if these readings will continue or get

worse.

I am relieved in a way that it is the port but am panicking

about the removal of the band if it has to come out.

I know what it takes to do this but I just don’t have time

in my life at the moment to dedicate it to another round of weight loss!! All I

can say is SSSSSHHHHIIIITTTT!!

Now that’s off my chest hope all are well and going ok.
