Guest guest
Here is a letter to my colleague about the fee imposed: I'm not sure the $200 fee per admit will work for me long term. It seems a bit steep given that the insurance company is also paying for your services. I happened to mention this with a national group of primary care docs and they had never heard of anything like this anywhere else in the country. They were quite amazed that I was paying this at all. Can we negotiate this fee? Just checking before I look into other options. As you know, the entire premise of my office is low overhead so I continually look into how to keep costs down so I can pass on the savings to my patients and continue providing steeply discounted and charity care. Thanks for cogitating on this. ************* Well, I'll let yall know what happens! I think what irks me at this point (besides the obvious) is that I have noncompliant patients who see me very intermittently at steep cash discounts, then they get admitted and I pay through the nose (more than they have ever paid me for a single office visit). Plus, I do not get hospital chart notes or a call that they were even admitted. Just the $200 bill!! Pamela
