Guest guest
Vision therapy - we did it for 8 months and have had fantastic, long lasting results. It is done by neuro-optometrists. You may want to read Fixing My Gaze - it's a book written all about this training from the perspective of an adult woman who had never had three dimensional vision before. It's fascinating and it also explains the eye training really well. > > My daughter just turned five months old and does not track with her > eyes at all. Guest guest
Our daughter has retinal colobomas on both eyes, and an iris coloboma on the right. So far her vision is really good. She's 18 months and the ophthalmologist yesterday thinks she is at about 20/40 so I'm considering us extremely lucky, but we don't know how her vision will be in the future. > Calvin was nearly blind for the first year of life. His sight has been improving so much, he now has glasses and can see light, when somebody walks by, sparkly toys, etc. We use black light for 15 minutes a day and by toys that really have a strong contrast with black light. This really helps. We also have vision videos for early vision development. We do tracking (hold sparkly object, red light, etc.) and practice. His eyes are also fine, it's the occipital lobe in the brain that has the problem...but it's learning! > > Kara > > ________________________________ > > To: polymicrogyria > Sent: Monday, March 5, 2012 10:35 PM > Subject: eye sight > > > > My daughter just turned five months old and does not track with her eyes at all. Guest guest
My son is now 6 months old. At 3-4 month appointments he wasn't tracking well with his eyes. He saw an opthamologist who said his eyes were fine. By the 5 month appt with Neuro he was tracking great. We recently saw opthamology again and found out he has a small astigmatism and were told not to worry about and to come back in a year, they warned us if it doesn't go away he made need glasses by pre-k age. We did use toys that would light up, eye catching toys, and his energetic big sis to get his attention to try and track with his eyes. Other than that time went by and he eventually got it. Good luck with your daughter! =) > > My daughter just turned five months old and does not track with her eyes at all. The eye doctor said she can only see light right now.
