Guest guest
wanted to know WHY I put up with this. I think the reason why I did this is: 1) I wanted back-up for inpatient when I first opened in 2005. (I've only had 6 admits and did all except one myself so no real issue there) 2) Insurance companies require documentation of who is covering me since I no longer have hospital privileges. The recredential application requires a letter from the covering doc. I am not sure the hospitalists (who work NOT for the hospital, but for competing large multi-specialty groups) will cover my practice. I believe I asked in the distant past, but I will have to broach this subject again. Atleast I will have to do it by 2011 when it is time to recredential again. But who knows whether I'll even be dealing with third party payers by then. Third ~party~ payers - sounds so . . . festive. ? for Lowell -> Is the $500 payment per day to hospitalists from the hospital? No charge to PCPs, right. Has ANYONE out there heard of this or had to deal with this? Pamela
