Guest guest
Got an email back from my IM hospital coverage group. " will talk with call group tomorrow when we routinely meet hospital is paying ....gulp...$300 for undoctored patients up front and then the doc will bill the patient. All has to do with reciprocity, equal onus, and market forces of costs of securing hospitalist care. Now if your patient were " undoctored " upon hitting the ED, hospital would pay some one( my group takes about one out of every 10 undoctored in the rotation ) $300 as a one time fee and the patient pays after that... ( hospital is changing this system but that's the way it is right now.) So..... lets keep talking " Well, let's see what happens here. The guy is really nice. I've been to his house for dinner. I'm curious where this will go. . . Pamela
