My son didn't sit up unassisted until he was three and still fell over if caught

off guard. I think there is always room for hope but I agree you should be

realistic.

I think it is fair to say that if a child is going to be able to sit up unaided

it will generally happen by 2. My daughter is 4 now and my expectations for her

have changed. I was really hoping she would sit and weight bare, even say a few

words. But we have grown together on this journey and I am just pleased that she

smiles, is happy and communicates through gestures. Her tone has improved and so

have the seizures. She is at home more than in hosp and a much loved member of

the family. Thats enough for now. Louise
