Guest guest
Hi - Glad your starting to feel better and getting past those post-surgery/illness problems. I have some comments in the text below: --- <javanfirkins@...> wrote: > * related; I'm still wondering about the > antibiotics. I'm not sure what to do now... ***** Don't worry about it one bit. There is nothing that will affect treatment regarding changes to your labs. Any labs needing to be re-done would be redone at your visit or soon after anyway. What it will affect is how you feel right now, not over the long-term. I promise you need to do nothing re labs done prior to your illness. Besides, some time needs to pass for you to fully recover and get back on your feet before you can effectively assess where you stand. Relieving the stress of what impact this has on your future treatment will be one step towards getting better. > > I plan on taking Probiotics especially when this is > done. I wouldn't take it. It will stimulate a chemokine related to the TH1 response which you don't really want to happen when OCD or anxiety or restless leg-type symptoms are present. Add that to yeast you no doubt will have for a little while (and that can normalize) , and you'll feel nasty. Won't necessarily hurt you long term, but make you feel rotten. > > I don't want to make a big mistake after such a > large dose of > anti-biotics. I'd stick to the standard doses and make sure you get them 3 times a day, and eat foods that feed bacteria well like apples, salad, cultured meats like salami, easy to diget veggies like squash and zucchini but avoid difficult to digest like broccoli and cabbage. (I think kimchi and saurkraut would be ok though 'cause they're broken down some by lactic acid processes.) Bone broths (think chicken soup made from homemade chicken where you've boiled the bones a long time) would have a healing effect too. Gelatin is helpful for healing the gut as well, and a good bone broth contains gelatin - that stuff that makes it wiggly when it cools off. I'd recommend focusing on that than very high doses of probiotics, but don't skip them, always eat them with food, and take them 2 hours after antibiotics. > > > Any suggestions? Guest guest
, If you don't like the " goat " yogurt, try freezing it... it deadens the " goat " taste and it's more palatable to those who don't love that flavor. You can fill a dixie cup with it, then insert a popsicle stick or a plastic spoon and freeze. Just don't bite the spoon. You can cover the cup with some saran wrap, put a slit in it for the stick or spoon handle to pop up through to hold it in place until it sets. Good luck!
