I've been doing some thinking along these lines and wondered how much you could take internally of bentonite as part of a detox. I will look into this product - thanks! According to the bottle of Vit-Ra-Tox, a person would have to consume a three year supply every day for a long period of time in order to reach toxicity. It also says that as long as bentonite clay constitutes less than 50% of your diet, you're fine. Just to make sure you get the right stuff, it's called Vit-Ra-Tox #16... An Absorbent Aid in Detoxification. It's made by V.E Irons in Kansas City, MO. Comes in a big bottle at the health food store. Tastes a little chalky, but not much flavor otherwise. Nice stuff to have around "just in case". Gloria
Guest guest
Thank you Gloria - it does sound like something to keep on hand! It also sounds like a good idea when you eat something bad or toxic and with cancer patients. it's called Vit-Ra-Tox #16... Becky I try to take one day at a time -- but sometimes several days attack me at once.
Guest guest
Thank you Gloria - it does sound like something to keep on hand! It also sounds like a good idea when you eat something bad or toxic and with cancer patients. I work with someone who takes it for absolutely everything. Stubs her toe? Out comes the Vit-ra-Tox. LOL! I just did a search on the internet and found it's actually part of a whole detox system and was approved by Bernard Jensen and others. V.E. Irons himself (the founder) sounded like an interesting guy. He died at 96 but fathered one of his children at 80. I just always keep the #16 on hand. In fact I took a dose today. You don't have to be sick to clean yourself out! I also keep powdered charcoal on hand. Dr. Schulze claims it's like a huge toxin magnet as it goes through your body. Guest guest
told me of a lady that died because she took soo much 'clay product' that it gooped up in her intestines, blocking there ability to elimante and killed her. I think there must be more to the story. She either had physical problems to begin with or she was taking the "wrong" clay or simply too much of it. Bentonite has been used for centuries for cleaning the alimentary canal, and you are always told to drink a lot of water after you take it. The kind I take is in a soluable form and readily digested. I checked some info on the internet (for what to look for in buying bentonite clays). There were a couple brands they didn't recommend. They said some "clays" are simply processed mud, and that hydrated clay should never be stored in plastic, although some companies do that. I take Vit-ra-Tox by V.E. Irons and it was one of the ones they gave a thumbs up: "If one still wishes to purchase hydrated bentonite in a form ready for use internally, we recommend products by V.E. Irons, Inc. V.E. Irons, Inc. has been in business for decades, and has contributed to the knowledge base of humanity with their own research staff. V. Earl Irons, founder, was a pioneer in natural products long before most of our country knew what a supplement was. They have published papers and been involved in the vitamin/supplement movement since its inception. They have various patented methods for creating their final products. Their internal clay, one of the first bentonites to reach market in ready to consume form, is USP Grade rather than FDA grade, which is the exact road we would take if marketing a similar product. Notice that they sell their product in a GLASS UV PROTECTED container. While clay does not need to be protected from sunlight, this is standard packaging procedure for their hydrated products. Our hats are off to to the fine family who has contributed so much to the world of mineral supplements".
Guest guest
Hi Pat, I once did a colon cleanse using Bentonite Clay, Philysum, and Grapefruit seed extract. I was told that it's most important to get the bowels working before taking Bentonite, as it can certainly clog up the system! and the K9's -----The owner of a local HFS told me of a lady that died because she took soo much 'clay product' that it gooped up in her intestines, blocking there ability to elimante and killed her. Guest guest
I think you meant Pam . Yes your right you are best doing IC#1 before the #2. I am currently doing the IC #2 which has bentonite in it. I personally am not afraid of the stuff, however I can sure feel it pulling on my gutts right now! I don't think I would make it a habit of taking 2tbsp. a day on a consistant basis tho IMO, particularly if a person isn't good at keeping themselved hydrated.
