Gall stones. Ouch.

One of my all-time worst pain moments ever was my

first, last & only gall bladder attack. First I

was afraid that I was dying & then I was afraid

that I wasn't.

We have pretty much the same pain problems. I

have a few more, but I am 22 years older than

you.

Well met & well come, Kim.

I laughed until I cried about the above. How ever well I remember the same

thing. Glad it's gone now and I won't have that any more.

Hello Kim, what are you using for pain relief at this time? Elavil helped me

with migraine and IBS. I have no children, and I hope to be well enough some

day to have a family. Welcome, I am a new member, too. Leigh.

Welcome, ! This is a great board. We trade a lot of

information and there are many really helpful and smart folks. Jan

probably told you that we occasionally have meetings in cities like

Dallas, Houston, Austin, San . I joined the group in the

summer of 2004 when I was getting really sick and the regimens I was

put on weren't working. My pcp here in Dallas had given up on me and

I found a great doc recommended on the board and have been feeling

better and better since then. I have Hashimoto's and am on Armour

and a lot of other support meds.

My mom was hypo and had two miscarriages before she had me. This was

way back in the 1940s. She found a good doc who put her on Armour,

boosted her iron and other vitamins and minerals and she was finally

able to have me. I think I started having more serious hypo symptoms

about 15 years ago, and various doctors ignored my complaints. I

probably had the condition much earlier than that.

Just fyi, members sometimes post their labs for others to comment

on, and if you should ever care to do that, be sure to give each lab

result and also the lab range along with it.

And Jan recently reposted some information about posting. When you

respond to someone's post, be sure to trim all of the unnecessary

posts in the thread and just show what you are replying to. Also,

try to put a title in the subject line that pertains to your

discussion.

We'll look forward to chatting with you --

Sara

it can get passed down a maternal line, so I was surprised to find

out I did have hypothyroidism. Still, my mother discovered she had

hypothyroidism soon after giving birth to me, so when I found out I

suffered from it, we shared it.

I take Armour (120mg) and have taken Synthroid (ranged from 115-175

in the past--I can't say much for the differences between the two

based on my own experiences, though I think each have helped in

different ways. I'm wanting a new doctor, though. Thanks to Jan, who

has given me some really helpful information today!

There are specific chromosomes where the weak links are located, and yes,

they are specific. HLA-DR3 or something like that for either Grave's or

Hashimoto's, and other garbldy sounding chromosome #s that I can't remember

specifically what they stand for. It does, however, many times, take

certain circumstances to bring it forward in some people, but in certain

families it's going to come forward anyway. I could have sworn I just

posted some links to that question, but I'm not seeing it here.

Dear Natasha! What a wonderful friend you are to be so active in your

friends life! You and she are so welcome here. We are not just a

group , we are family. We will give you all the support you need ! I

admire you so much for being so compassionate. God bless you and her

and her kids. She is going thru hell (please excuse my term) so she

might need you to be strong for her. I will keep you all in my

prayers. Please update us on how you are all doing. I understand what

it is like to not be able to sit at a computer, I have had hard times

myself. I wish your best friend a remission soon. Welcome Sweety!

Hi Mazz

I am out here – just come back from a dinner with my partner and

enjoying a glass of wine and some nice music.

Tomorrow I am off to Dubbo for a few days with work and every

time I get in that small plane and don’t have to ask for a seatbelt extension I

thank the day I had the op!

I tend to lurk a bit in this group – am currently studying and

have exams next week but after that I look forward to meeting you all at one of

your fabulous social do’s!

Have a nice night everyone

Cheers

Anne

Hi Anne

Isn't it wonderful not having to ask for seatbelt extenders? I went to

UK last year and all I could think of was oh my goodness I can fit in

the seats with out an extender, my sister laughed at me. Have a good

time in Dubbo. Good luck with your exams, I always go to pieces with

exams so much so when I started my last job and we had training I failed

the exams then the trainer realised that I did know what I was talking

about so she asked me the questions verbally and then got me to write

the answers down and all was well.

Look forward to meeting up with you in the future.
