Hey guys!

Just a lil update; it's been a week since the surgery now. I'm doing

just fine which I'm SO grateful for.

Feeling pretty well, some cramps, but HUGE improvement-- last I saw

written was right after surgery, so things are well...

For kicks; I had what seemed to be MASSIVE swelling around my stomach,

waist, abdomen, and groin area. They told me the pain, and major

bloating was just gas and constipation in spite of telling them it was

something else.

Turns out it was a very large amount of collected IV fluid around my

middle from getting saline while sitting up.

In 4 days I went from 166 lbs. coming home from hospital after surgery,

to 4 days later 142 lbs. I had 3 gallons of water retention around my

middle!!! OUCH, lol. I looked/felt like an Umpa-Lumpa off charlie and

the chocolate factory, :-P

* related; I'm still wondering about the antibiotics. I did some

research and found they have me about at the highest end of the

antibiotic spectrum there is. A dual combination novel antibiotic at

the highest prescribed dose by the company. 1,750 MG a day.

This is DEFINATELY going to have an effect on my blood work-up I

sent into Dr. G. I'm not sure what to do now...

I plan on taking Probiotics especially when this is done. I don't know

if the strains in this High Count, Multi-Strain (by 'Custom Probiotics')

product is Ok to take until my intestine is mostly replenished, then I

can start taking the mild lower dose I normally take.

Ingredients: {One capsule; 35 Billion- L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L.

plantarum, B. lactis, B. bifidum.}

I don't want to make a big mistake after such a large dose of

anti-biotics. I'm also curious how long I should take this high count

for. I'll probably be taking between 75-150 Billion a day.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Oh interesting, with food? It seemed that all the probiotics (about

all) stress taking on empty stomach just with water.

That's interesting though. A friend recommended something that might

be a good idea I'm trying; she said to get some yogurt and take along

with probiotics; but use goat's milk yogurt just for a little while,

it out to help. I think it's probably a pretty good idea. I don't

normally drink goat's milk, but I figured it's much better than

regular dairy.

Thanks for tips!

<question I'm curious about at the end of this>

That is a very good and clever idea Caroline. I did try some of the

goat milk. Unfortunately around or a day after I noticed that I was

getting more sick, fever, nausea, pain, headache, gut pains, feeling

of wanting to vomit; I ended up going the to the doc then ER.

They said they found a large infected abscess after the CT scan that

the antibiotics didn't get rid of- so I had to stay in the hospital

another 3 days and they had to insert a catheter into my abdomen with

a bottle at the end that I have to empty.

It hurts; and was a lil scary. The part I dislike the most is I still

have sharp pains other places and they said they hope the oral

antibiotics will take care of the other places of bacteria they found-

but if they don't they too will have to be drained. <cross fingers>

I hope things heal up, but I tried asking if this might not be someone

what do a compromised immune system.

I know this is going to have a large effect on my body, my fungi

levels, viral levels, everything; being that it has turned into such a

significant situation.

Anyone have any comments info on how that might effect the body;

whether it might cause an uprise in viruses, or autoimmune problems,

etc? That way I know what to partly expect?

Love to hear from any and all of you, thanks!!!!
