Guest guest
Hi , My son is similar to yours - born at 26 weeks gestation (14 weeks early) and showed signs of delays very early on. He also has CP. My son, too, often felt hot but had no fever. Often, his fevers when he would get sick were reverse, meaning they registered very low (95.6 farenheit). His hands and feet would sweat, even though he wasn't over-dressed. He was prone to fevers, and at age 3, started drooling (which stopped again a few days after starting Valtrex). Diet, in addition to the antivirals and antifungals, has been very important. My son had chronic upper respiratory problems until we removed corn from his diet. He has also been off dairy and soy with very good results, plus no nitrites/preservatives, refined sugar or food dyes. Food dyes (esp. combined with sugar) & soy make him very hyper. We give him limited gluten, often with enzymes. It was a challenge at first to feed him what he could and would eat, but we found some favorites and now it's fine. Finally, the right SSRI for him, at the right dose, has made a huge difference. Kristy new and from Brazil Hello. I'm new to this group. My 8 y.o. son Pedro is autistic and we live in Brazil. I think Pedro has classical autism (from birth) rather than acquired. His mother had pre-eclampsia and he was born with 31 weeks and with very low body weight. He never spoke and he is still very thin. His MRI is normal. On the other hand, he used to have a warmer than normal skin temperature when he was a toddler (but not fever), exams showed low iron and low ferritin, high blood lead, and almost every food or supplement makes him hyper. He also suffer from nose congestion, even after we improved his environment. Once, the doctor gave him prednisone for a respiratory allergy and his behavior improved. I've already treated him with probiotics and anti-fungals, what made him much less hyperactive, but his cognition and language are very poor. All this make me think he has an immune problem related to his autism. What do you think? I would like to treat him with Dr. Goldberg protocol, but it seems the only way to do that is by visiting Dr. Goldberg in his clinic. Am I right? Could you tell me what you would do if you were me? Any comment would be appreciated. Thanks a lot, Lucena

Guest guest
, Low Ferritin is often a sign of an immune dysfunction, and the fact that when you treat what appears to be allergy symptoms hyour son's behaviour improves is another sign. You should endeavour to see Dr Goldberg. We travel from Singapore to do this. Once you do the initial bloodwork-up and have the initial examination, you can follow-up with phone consults. It is a great advantage to have an understanding doctor locally who can help out with blood work and prescriptions though. Think about this - it is a big commitment, however if it helps your child (and it usually does) then it is worth it, Best wishes, _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of carloslucena2000 Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2006 4:52 AM Subject: new and from Brazil Hello. Guest guest
High lead you say? Perhaps looking into getting that removed would be a good idea. Also there is a group on called Autism_Iron with some great info there. I would definitely look into it. K > > Hello. > > I'm new to this group.
