It is also much easier for young children and the very elderly to take as compared to a tincture. No, glycerine is terrible for extracting. Best would be to make a tincture, add it to water and slowly heat to drive off the alcohol and then reduce the water by half, cool and add the glycerine. It won't last as long as a tincture though.
