unilateral PMG and learning

Hi all,

My daughter (who will turn 9 in March) was diagnosed with PMG two years

ago. Her PMG is right hemisphere only so she has weakness with fine

motor skills on left and partial seizures (now controlled with seizure

meds.) My question is this: does anyone else with unilateral PMG have

uneven learning/intelligence? She struggles with math regrouping for

example and can't seem to learn this concept (we've been working on it

since last year) -she will learn it one day but she doesn't retain what

she's learned Yet, she can remember other facts (i.e. social studies,

things she learned from reading a book, etcetera) and she has not had

any breakthrough seizures in the last year so it does not seem to be a

universal problem with taking in new information, just in certain

subjects. Has anyone else that has experience with unilateral PMG had

this issue?

Thanks,

(Mother of Eva)
