I would highly suggest that anyone make this formula up and keep it on hand. You don't need to make a lot of it at a time. Comes in extremely handy for those gashes, cuts, slices, dices, scrapes, macerations, rips, tears, gouges and what have you. I know as I created it out of desperation. I had made some licorice extract and had poured it (more like spooned it) onto a plate to cool and harden. Well it did and basically glued itself to the plate. So I had to find something nice and sharp to pry it off with. Well I got out my brand new unused super sharp wood chisel and went at it. Due to extreme lack of safety awareness I had placed my left hand on the opposite side of the plate while I pushed this super sharp brand new unused wood chisel underneath the licorice to pry this extremely gooey tacky gluey substance off the plate. Well it worked really welll and that last sticky piece came loose leaving my right hand and the super sharp brand new unused wood chisel with no resistance between it and my left hand. I ripped my left hand open to the bone on the opposite side from the thumb right near the wrist. I drove that wood chisel in at an angle and opened up a nice flap of skin about 2 inches into my palm. I was bleeding like a stuck hog and had nothing to put on it but a paper towel. So bleeding profusely through this paper towel I got out my mortar and pestle and began to smash up some burdock root, powder up some comfrey and myrrh. After I completed this, as well as changing my paper towel about 30 times, I added in a pinch of cayenne, a little water to make a paste, several drops of benzoin resinoid and a couple of drops of basil EO. I then slathered this concoction onto my wounded hand and bandaged it as best I could. Within seconds the pain disappeared, due to the myrrh. I changed this bandage twice a day using the same mixture and within one week was able to use no bandage, had absolutely no pain, there was no inflammation what-so-ever and to this day you would have to really look hard to see the scar as it is almost non-existant, thanks to the benzoin. I have complete feeling in this area too, which is remarkable. Anyway, I guess everyonel didn't need to hear all those gory details so I apologize for that. But this is an excellent wound healer. The burdock root and comfrey heal really quickly. The cayenne stops the bleeding right now. The myrrh is an excellent pain kill, antiinflammatory agent and antibacterial. The benzoin really helps with scarring. The only reason I used Basil EO is because I like the smell. No actually it has some excellent properties, antibacterial, antiinflammatory. It, however, is not in the recipe as it is not needed. Okay I'll quit now. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man. It is a resinoid. Very thick, viscous gummy resin. No do not mix it with the powders. Just mix up the powders and store them. If and when the need arises then add your water and several drops of the resinoid. Very seldom will it ever drop you usually have to use a toothpick or something to coax it out. The gum powder may work similarly but is nowhere near as concentrated as the resinoid will be. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
