Guest guest
Have you seen the AppShopper app? It's free and narrows down the options by and filters nicely. I use it to look for free apps for Quinn. This week I found a new one from Prentke Romich that might fit nicely. The first steps in using apps or other equipment for communication is getting a child acclimated to expecting that he or she can effect his or her environment predictably by using language. Not something most of us have ever had to consider before! I think the PRC app would work nicely - there are directions included that talk about language development. We also have Proloquo2go, which is a bit complicated for Quinn because of his motor issues. There are also lots of beginning reading apps, some better than others, that will help kids develop language skills regardless of their ability to speak. Babies with iPads is another good resource - just google for the blog, or look 'em up on facebook. Best of luck! (mom to 5) -- Out of the Gray Serving caregivers who give their all.
