Guest guest
If you're talking about me -- the Mom -- I'm being treated by my family doc and I'm not sure how " up " she is on the whole B-12 problem. For me, I was taking shots but I became sensitive to them about two years ago. I've tried the oral strip of high dose B-12 that melts on the tongue, but they made me feel crumby so I stopped using them. I tried a shot recently, but I'm still sensitive to it, so my doctor had suggested I look into taking high dose B complex vitamins although I haven't done it yet. What are the creams and intrinsic factor? From some of the recent posts, it looks like it may not be as simple a thing as " B-12 absorption problem " . More research needed by me... Rhoda Re: Opinion on recent posts/Rhoda Have any of you used B12 creams or does it need to be just shots? Or, have any of you taken intrinsic factor to help with absorption? > For example, information from this group makes me wonder if B-12 plays a > larger role with my son than others. Guest guest
Hey Rhoda - Please clue me in too if you find out a solution. I have low B12 too, but after the first two shots, which initially did make me feel slightly better, they then started making me feel quite worse by the next day. Oral ones have bitten me hard enough that I refuse to even try another option, as I can't bring myself to swallow any pill that may knock me down for a couple of days at a time till I find one that works. In the meantime, I may try some liver or pate'. I keep feeling like something sharp, like needles, is (are?) poking me in my toes and fingers, and I think that's a B12 thing. It's not very comfortable - but still not as bad as the after effects of the shot. I wish I knew what the deal is. --- Rhoda Boyd <rboyd@...> wrote: > If you're talking about me -- the Mom -- I'm being > treated by my family doc and I'm not sure how " up " > she is on the whole B-12 problem.
