Guest guest
Hi Louise, Thanks for responding, wyatt also rubs his head on the floor a lot. He has a couple spots on his head that don't have very much hair. He also has low muscle tone. Everyday he gets a little stronger. The hard part has been that as he gets stronger he hits himself harder. Thankfully with his new ots help we are handling him (the situation) better. He turns 3 later this month and I am very hopeful that he might be sitting up by then. Just the thought of him sitting up makes me so happy, it brings tears to my eyes. It was nice hearing from you, Miriam >Hi Miriam > >Scarlett has a lycra bodysuit to give her body sensory feedback. She likes to rub her head on the floor when laying down, but has not started to hit her head. She has low muscle tone, so prob would not be able to hurt herself with her hands. It's really frustrating that she is so obsessed with her hands, I might try arm splints for an hour a day to try and break the habit. > > > > >Subject: how to stop putting hands in mouth? >To: polymicrogyria >Date: Thursday, March 3, 2011, 8:44 PM > > > >Hi everyone >Was wondering if any of you have any tips to stop my daughter putting her hands in her mouth. She is 3 years old and and quite severe sensory issues. But the mouthing of her hands has got more and more , pretty much non stop these days. Not sure if it is her teeth as well as the sensory pleasure she gets from it. I would have to distract her all the time or put gloves on to give her sore red hands a break. > >Thanks louise, mum to Scarlett > >
